Becoming a first-time home buyer or landlord is scary, time-consuming, and at times – overwhelming. Joshua Poitras understands all of this. Through trial and error, from a bachelor's degree to military experience, to the genuine trait of wanting to help people – Joshua is ready to help you get off on the right track and set your mind at ease.
Born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, having lived in both Malden and Boston, and frequently doing business in Somerville and Cambridge, Josh is the perfect fit for these areas. He looks forward to helping these areas grow and develop into the future, especially that of East Boston.
Josh put himself through the University of Massachusetts Lowell Criminal Justice Bachelor's Program by joining the Massachusetts's National Guard. After ten years of service, including two one-year long deployments, Josh returned home and earned his second degree in Fire Science at Bunker Hill Community College.
After experiencing some of the toughest military schools and serving as Middlesex Deputy Sheriff for two years, Josh has realized that nothing brings him quite as much joy as real estate. His love for real estate started after his first deployment, when he bought his first home at the top of the real estate boom in 2006-2007. Much to his dismay, his first buy resulted in a forced short sale due to unforeseen circumstances. Thus, he was forced to recoup his losses. Josh then decided to go for his second deployment; Where he recovered from financial turmoil and returned to the States to purchase his first multi-family home. He now lives without financial burdens, which he owes to the lessons he has learned from his real estate background.
With education, first-hand knowledge, and dedication, Joshua is determined to help first-time buyers and first-time landlords ease into their first property purchases and start them off on the right foot.
