We are currently trying to close on our first house and right now the lack of a driveway easement is holding us up. According to the surveys and lawyers for sellers and us are in agreement that the driveway is on the deed. Is it common for a lender to require an easement for the driveway, when we would already have right of access? Is there any reason that the neihbors wouldn't sign such a document ensuring they have access? They are currently dragging their feet for some reason.
