Judy Spiegel is a delightful real estate agent. She is pleasant and fun to see houses with (with a very understated, but wicked sense of humor). She is also very, very accommodating of and patient with her indecisive, ambivalent clients, of which I was certainly one for many months.
In contrast to pushy and aggressive agents eager for a sale, Judy's approach is very low key. She SELDOM ventured an opinion until I had expressed mine -- and she allowed me plenty of time at every showing to get a "feel" for the house. Not once did she do the "hard sell," or imply that a house was "a great buy," or a deal "too good to pass up."
When she wasn't particularly familiar with a market (Madison downtown condos, for example), she told me up front -- and even offered to help me find a realtor who specialized in condos, which I greatly appreciated. When I declined her offer, she willingly set up showings and her observations during these proved very helpful.
Judy's strengths may be shortcomings for some potential clients. She is a warm and kind human being; accordingly, she is (I think) unlikely to be an agent who will play hard-ball in negotiations; she will work toward a settlement that is fair for everyone. Similarly, in letting the client direct the search, Judy is not overly proactive in finding potential houses for sale beyond sending the automatic MLS listings. I searched many more internet sites and found many more houses in my price-range than she sent and/or flagged. For me personally, this worked well.
Judy is great! I recommend her strongly!
