I believe certain componets are inperative in becoming a successful real estate agent;  first and foremost, the necessity to be a "People Person", one must enjoy getting to know people, perceptiveness of their needs, wants and likes plus patient understanding that much can change several times during the course the relationship.  Second, continuing education, knowledge of the market both local and globle, staying abreast of the economy, financing practices, "tuned in" to trends, styles and property values.  Third, stay on top of techonogly, it is the core of marketing, constant contact....not only with clients but in the fast paced communication network.  Flexible work schedule, ability to be available 7 24s, get back to your clients as quickly as possible, even if you don't have all their answers.  Always let them know you are working for them, make them feel that you are working for them alone...always, always be available.

My skill set covers all of the above in addition to the ability to stage properties, work with design decisions on new projects and have a creative eye were money is an issue with listing properties. 

Marketing is my background, real estate is my passion.  I picked this career 9 years ago and am a Top Producer, grossing over 5 million in my first year.  I am in the top 20% of  the 600+ local realtors and top 10% of  Coldwell Banker Schmidt.  My success stems from my customer service and my referrals. My philosophy;  regardless of what one is selling or buying, everyone gets the same devotion and commitment to the job I'm hired to do.

Currently, I am President of the Women's Council of Realtors, Member of a Capital Fund Project to restore Historical Barns at the Traverse City State Hospital, in addition, creating a Botanic Gardens for all to enjoy.  My certifications include, Preview Luxury Homes, ABS, and SRF.

      Showed home in 2013 in Hatchs, Garfield Township, MI 49684.
      Not much else to say except not impressed. More interested in commission then truly helping people find their new home. Didn't listen to what our wants were, showed homes that were typically 'her' listing first (more $$ in her pocket, hesitant to show homes we requested to see?!?) Bottom line? We went elsewhere (another company altogether) and couldn't be happier. She also asked us to complete this review the first day we met!! Fortunately, I wanted to see proof before I wrote a review. I'm assuming that is the only way she has such high marks - others are impressed with first meeting (as were we) and left review then. Would love to hear what they have to say post-purchase/sale of their home. I imagine the review would be similar to this one. Anyway, she needs to find another job.  MoreLess

      First, must say, I am so sorry you took away this impression of me....I pride myself on putting my clients first working very hard to find the right property for them. With that, I believe whatever you thought to be a request for a review is incorrect, never would I ask prior to putting an offer together so confusion there. Without knowing who you are it is difficult to defend myself, but regardless, I am so sorry you took away this impression of me. My success is based on Excellent service and attention to detail for my clients. There are always mitigating circumstances that maybe able to be explained but glad you were able to get the service you needed. My apologize again for your misperception of me.       Sold a home in 2013.
      Personally, I would never work with Beccy Janis or recommend Beccy Janis to anyone. Upon initial meeting with Beccy she seemed to be knowledgeable, professional and have many connections in the Real Estate Industry. However, after working with her for only two days, we found her saying things that were not true. "I'm just taking these photos for reference, they won't be on the website." The very next day, those unprofessional photos were posted on all of our listings. Then, we asked for recommendations for handy men to help with some specific items. She said she would get back with us regarding some recommendations, she never got back with us. There were also a lot of items promised that she never fulfilled on. She also never discussed items that we needed to leave in the house upon closing. She just assumed that we knew, even though this was the first home we've sold. Overall, we are highly highly unsatisfied with our experience with Beccy and ask anyone who's considering her to do your research before signing on the dotted line. There are much more qualified Agents in the area that will be honest to you and no lie to you, as Beccy did numerous times to us. My recommendation, do your research before choosing an agent.  MoreLess

      It's unfortunate perceived as issues were simply necessary procedures to getting a listing on MLS ASAP as requested. Several times updated photos, helped w/staging & suggestions. Handyman dismissed due to cost versus replacement, buyers accepted. Got an offer successfully negotiate within 2 months in a down market. Compensated buyers w/commission for the misunderstanding of one item not left behind. With that, I never want an unhappy client but sometimes it is impossible to please everyone. I work very hard for my clients & would venture to say most everyone in my 10 years of experience has been completely satisfied, referred & reused me multiple times. It is unfortunate that you were only able to see one side of this but I certainly hope you & your new baby are happy & settled in new location. I personally thought you were a darling couple & certainly feel sadden by your remarks. Please accept my apologies for any inconveniences I may have caused you.

      Bought a home in 2013.
      We recently moved here from out of state, we had very little knowledge as to what areas, schools, etc that we wanted to look for. Beccy and Ashley were more helpful than I could have ever imagined a Realtor being. Anytime we wanted to see a house they were right there to show it to us, they were able to answer questions about different areas, schools, etc that were very helpful in our decision. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a home. They listened to us when we explained what we were looking for and within a month found us our perfect place.
