08/28/2012 - user080232Property manage a Single Family home in Julian, CA.
Kaaren Terry has managed three Julian properties I own since 2008. I trust her knowledge of the Julian real estate market and her competence as a property manager and would recommend her to any prospective client looking for a realtor in the Julian area. Kaaren also represented me as a listing and sales agent for one property, the sale of which she handled professionally and efficiently.…More Less
Response from Kaaren
My wife and I rented a beautiful home that Kaaren managed in Julian, California. While the home was wonderful, she certainly was not! On one occasion, she tried to enter our rental when we were out!
We thought someone tried to break-in! My wife called the Sheriff's Department. Soon after, we found out that Kaaren was responsible. This concerned my wife and I. We are not accustomed to this kind of treatment and we never gave Kaaren our consent to enter.
Later that year, a portion of our roof was torn off by a BIG windstorm. Kaaren showed little concern for our safety and dragged her feet on the repairs needed. Unfortunately, (two weeks later), a big rainstorm hit and our beautiful rental home was flooded with water!
If that wasn't bad enough, what she did next was completely unethical. As we stood in the middle of Kaaren's busy Julian office, she apologized for our trouble, asked us to find another rental, and told us that last our last month would be "rent free". I don't know why I believed her at this point... but I did. You can guess what happened next... Kaaren claimed that we skipped out on rent and threatened to evict us even as we were moving out!
This story has a happy ending... Now 5 years later, my wife and I are proud homeowners! Needless to say, we DID NOT go to Kaaren Terry or Mountain Farms Realty for help with our purchase!!!…More Less

About Kaaren Terry

Kaaren Terry is a REALTOR real estate agent with Mountain Farms Realty in Julian, California. A native of San Diego, Kaaren moved to Julian in 1999
to get away from the city and live where she spent her vacations as a child. "Living in the mountain is a goal I made to myself as a child."
Kaaren has worn many "hats" over the years before settling into real estate. She raised a large family, was a foster parent to 28 children and adoptive mother of two. She worked for Vons Grocery Company as a checker and department manager. Her love of glass developed into a business as a glass artist; making stained glass windows, kaleidoscopes, and fused glass picture frames which she marketed world wide. She owned a classic fire engine, and gave tours of San Diego while her customers rode in the back. She wrote the contemporary novel, "Across the Creek," which is set in Julian. All these experiences gave her the knowledge of how business and people tick. "Each 'hat' opened the most unexpected doors and taught me to think outside of the box."
Kaaren had extensive experience working in property management before becoming a licensed real estate agent in 1997. She realized she had found her niche; and was excited helping people find a new home. Kaaren shares her skills and enthusiasm with every family to meet their needs and budget. "It doesn't matter if the new home is temporary, permanent, a step up or downsized. My clients have a need and I enjoy fulfilling it."
"My life has been an incredible ride, every day a new learning experience, and the people I have met have made the trip extraordinary. While most of my friends are retiring I have geared up and started a new business. I am living my dream. Living in the mountains in a wonderful community and helping clients find their dream home. Julian is more than an address it's a way of life."
