My Client-First Philosophy

There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.

In my experience as a real estate professional, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.

This "client first" philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I've found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients.  Our world changes fast.  You want to position yourself as the Amazon.com, Netflix, or Redbox that revolutionizes an industry and displaces the Waldenbooks, Borders, or Blockbuster video.  Real estate today uses online virtual tours, search engine optimization, and informative websites.  Many people trying to buy or sell properties do the bulk of their research and information gathering online.   

Real estate has always been a passion for me.  I bought my first house in 1994.  Over the years, I have purchased six homes (five rentals and one I live in).  It is amazing how little I knew about how a complex real estate transaction works when I first started real estate.  I enjoy using my vast knowledge to help people buy or sell homes which will enable them to live the life they desire. 

I am a licensed Realtor.  Not all real estate agents are realtors.  I am bound by a code of ethics to provide excellence to clients, other real estate agents, and the local community. 

In 2010, I received my CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) designation.  A designation is like a masters degree in the real estate world.  Foreclosures and short sales plague our current real estate market.  This intense training in distressed properties gives me the edge when I represent clients during these challenging transactions. 

In 2012, I received my CIAS (Certified Investor Agent Specialist) designation.  Most people have a bad opinion of investors.  But personally I feel that investors will get us out of this housing crisis.  Investors purchase abandoned properties and turn them into rentals.  They also tackle properties that are in such poor condition that banks won't fund loans for their purchase. 

I am also a Zillow Premier Agent.  When clients list their home for sale with me, their listing automatically shows up at the top of the search results for buyers looking for homes.  This extra visibility helps my clients get their home sold!

    Sold a home in 2014.
    Kelly was a terrific agent to work with. We sold and bought a home at the same time. The process was a bit lenghty since the home we were purchasing was being built. He kept me calm and even-keeled each time I stressed out---which was quite often. He was always available to answer my thousands of questions and gave sound advice. He knows the area quite well and if he wasn't sure of something, he would find the correct answer as soon as possible. He was professional and honest.     Bought a Condo home in 2013 for approximately $100K in Tacoma, WA.
    My wife and I just purchased our first home together with Kelly's help. He did an exceptional job throughout the process, showing us homes that fit in our rather difficult parameters (lower end of an expensive market, two car garage, large open floorplan, newer construction). While our plans were fluid, Kelly patiently waited for us, providing info on current listings, and when we decided to pursue purchasing a short sale, he guided us through that process.
