Let's call it a "soft" closing, we do not have keys, and we signed a bunch of documents, but no money changed hands. There was no deed, apparently it was never received from the Fannie Mae attorney in Fayetteville, NC. The agent claims it was sent snail mail, why would a deed be sent snail mail? Nevertheless, we have a tracking number on a package and hopefully it will be recorded and our keys will be released by lunch. Grueling and emotionally draining are terrific descriptors for our day. Pictures tomorrow?
Sheri bottle that optimism, you are truly amazing. I seriously do not think this loan package can be extended any further, it has been over three months. My understanding is that we would have to reapply, and since it is USDA, we are subject to their very slow movement. We HAVE to get out of this house, the roof is threatening to fall in, if we did not move the bed Friday, it would have been soaked.
Well no one is happy yet, we still do not have a HUD as a result of Irene and the property having to be reinspected by the appraiser. We do not know anything except that tomorrow is the last day on the extension of our financing. If we do not close tomorrow, we will be looking for a rental and I will be posting pictures of our current leaky bedroom ceiling. The level of frustration is unbelieveable.
your an idiot-stop wasting peoples time
The current update includes a hopeful closing next Tuesday 8.30.11, we genuinely believe all parties are working towards that date. It just can't get here fast enough, earthquakes and hurricanes are nothing compared to what we have dealt with in the last year.
I once had a seller show up two weeks later and proclaim she was here to pick up her washer and dryer.
the message is don't buy a condo
As a recent college grad making that kind of money, I personally would sit tight. I think so many things will change in your life before you can even plan for the next move. Trust me
I think 1.0% is fair, that ultimately will lower your cost and should offer fair compensation for someone who was going to be uncompensated. This is not surgery, nor science, its a simple contract. Do not wate anyones time, however, your agent is working to make a living
Ian your guess is good as mine-to say I have lost the faith would be an understatement. If I get a call to show up for a closing this week, I will. It will be the most tense 90 minutes of our lives, and I think we will both sleep for a week. This is a worst case scenario for a first time home buyer, worse than that, its an embarrassment to our system. The only reason we have gotten anywhere is because of this forum, one can only wonder whats happening to those who do not have a voice
