Bought a Single Family home in 2010 in Hosford-Abernethy, Portland, OR.
Really enjoyed working with Nick on the purchase of our home in PDX. I originally began looking when I was out of state and had only a couple weekends to come look at properties and Nick always made the very best use of my time. Additionally, he works with a great staff. His knowledge of the market in SE Portland is at the top of his field and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Sold a home in 2011.
Worked with Nick this year on a tough sale of our home. His communication and quick follow through were essential to the close. He also went out of his way to work with us on showing the house when we had renters and also helping with small items that I wouldn't have thought possible. We were selling from out of town so it was not possible to work face to face but Nick made it seamless. Thanks Nick!

Bought a home in 2011.
Could not have imagined a better home buying experience. I worked with Nick and specifically, his buyer's agent, Glenn Matz, and both are incredible, trustworthy, and highly professional. I have numerous friends who've worked with Krautter as well, and all rave about him. If you're buying or selling a home in PDX, don't call anyone else.
I had never purchased a home before, and didn't really know the drill whatsoever. I fully anticipated that my realtor would be pushy, trying to get my into a house asap so they could collect their 3%. Glenn and Nick were the absolute antithesis of this.
I looked at probably 10 houses before making an offer, and on the first nine homes, Glenn told me all the reasons why I *shouldn't* buy the place! When I finally found a place that I liked, he'd already gained my trust, and when he said he couldn't see any issues with the place, I went for it.
He structured the offer in a way that the sellers took my offer, even though they had another offer for more money. Amazing.
During the inspection process, it was discovered that the roof would need to be replaced sometime in the next 3-5 years. He brought out another roofer for a second opinion, and was able to get the sellers to pay for a brand new tear-off roof. Amazing.
I couldn't have imagined a smoother home buying process, and will soon be moving into a house far nicer than I'd ever imagined in one of my favorite neighborhoods.
Kudos to Nick and Glenn.
And if you need a mortgage guy, call James Adair. Equally impressive, and works closely with Krautter.

Bought a home in 2007.
My experience purchasing my first house with Nick was fantastic. The level of service and professionalism was exceptional. Nick's knowledge of Portland is extensive, which helped me greatly when considering different neighborhoods. I cannot recommend Nick enough, I have and will continue to pass his name on to friends and family whenever the conversation turns to real estate.

Sold a Single Family home in 2009 for approximately $375K in Hosford-Abernethy, Portland, OR.
I have participated in MANY transactions with Nick. He is an absolute pro in all facets of the game. Fun to work with, aggressive in a transaction at the right time, I'm confident that Nick always has a firm grasp of the Portland marketplace. He sold my 2 bedroom home in 2009 in less than 8 weeks and we got 3 offers on it. Buying or selling, you can't do better than working with Nick and his team. 5 stars all the way.
