4/27/09 UPDATE: Check out Zillowite Sara's video on using Advice.Did you know you can subscribe to get instant or daily notification of new questions or discussions in a category (like everything in Pro-to-Pro). You can also limit it to new conversations just in your city or neighborhood or just to new Questions but not new Discussions (or vice versa). To do this, 1. Use the column of controls on the left and the location "breadcrumb" above to set up your view of threads to what you want to subscribe to. 2. Click “E-mail alerts” in the box towards the top of the page.3. You'll be asked for your e-mail address how quickly you want to be notified. You also can subscribe to be updated of action on existing threads. Look for that same icon on a thread page. Happy subscribing!KristinP.S. We know that the interface isn't as obvious as it could be and we don't yet have a way to subscribe based on phrases that appear in conversations across categories. They're both on our “honey do” list (sadly, it's called something much drier around the office).
Hi y'all,Thought you'd want to know that tonight we fixed a few more suggestions & problems. A few of the biggies:1. Now, if you subscribe to a thread, you no longer get emailed about your own posts. 2. You can now ask a question without picking a location for more region-independent Q&A.3. You are able to paste from other places and have it work. Hope you like the changes. K
Hi docpsych,I'm sorry to hear you feel that way. Since launch, we've seen an increase in the amount of traffic in our Advice section and the number of people contributing to Advice vs. before. We've made a bunch of changes to bring back some of the things that Discussion regulars loved and make it easier to "hang out there". Just use the filters on the left to limit your view to "Discussions" and you should be able to find more of what you want. Hopefully that helps,Kristin
Hi Scott,That one is a ways off, we're working on some other projects right now. We'll broadcast it by email and in the interface when it's ready. You'd get the email if you're subscribing to Zillow's emails to Pros, which you can do from your account page in My Zillow.
For some reason the sticky functionality isn't working for Articles. So I'll use this Discussion for two purposes. First to show you the way to set up TwitterFeed to automatically tweet your activities on Zillow. I wrote step-by-step instructions. Second to invite ideas from y'all about twitter and Zillow and what would be interesting to you. Anyone?
