Showed home in 2014 in Fairfield, CA.
Kitty Powers is an excellent example of how a realtor should be. Her expert in the industry is amazing. She is also very patient and understanding. She made me feel at ease as we go through the process of checking houses. She also explained detailed information of what is involved in buying a house. I am still looking for a house. I found potential homes but always lost to other buyers. My cousins came along with me each time I checked a house and they like to have Kitty as their representative in buying a house in the future.

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $275K in Vacaville, CA.
We have dealt with Larry and Kitty over the past 12 years on the selling and buying of 4 homes. In Suisun, Fairfield and Vacaville. The first was a relatively simple contingency sale in Suisun and Fairfield. The second time around however was more involved and much more difficult. We felt that Larry and Kitty handled it with professionalism and their relationships with local market realtors was instrumental in our getting our offer accepted in Vacaville when available inventory was very tight. If you want to help them help you, be clear and concise with what you want and watch the local market yourself. They will set you up so you can view new listings as they appear. Often you will see them before they do, but they will react quickly when you notify them.

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 in Vacaville, CA.
I never had a positive experience with a real estate agent while selling or purchasing a home. I have bought and sold four properties before the last property in northern California and I assumed that all real estate agents got paid too much money and didn’t do anything for it; but in March of 2012 I met Kitty Powers. Kitty redefined and restored my faith in the real estate business and the people involved. Due to a job transfer we had to leave our home in northern California of 12 years and move out of state. We had added a pool to our home in 2008 and shortly after that we watched the housing bubble bust and the value of our home plummet. At the time we weren’t very concerned because we had no plans in moving at all. One of our children was going into their senior year in high school and the other was in middle school, and we had great jobs, friends, and a church; we were happy and content. But the job market bust shortly after that and we were transferred even after “several” attempts to seek other employment, it wasn’t in the cards. I walked into the Gateway office and simply asked if there was anyone available that understood short sales? In a few minutes I met Kitty and was pleasantly surprised at her compassion and I immediately felt she understood the pain we as a family were going to go through in this process. So, I invited her to our home. She was on time and I met her outside and then I proceeded to tell her my experiences with her industry and agents in general and really didn’t want to do this, but I knew I had to. Kitty didn’t defend her industry or tell me she would be different, she listened. I invited her into my home and that’s how I felt she treated the visit as if she was coming into my home and not looking for a quick way to make a buck. Kitty had all the paperwork already prepared for me to complete and said that for me to take my time and call if I had any questions. Kitty was very complimentary of the house and left. Five months went by as we tried to figure a way out of moving and having to sell our home. During those five months, Kitty never called to “follow-up” or “help me get things going”, I think she felt the difficulty we as a family were going through and she respected that. In August, when the options were over and we actually found a great house to rent in our new town I called Kitty back, not because she was the first agent I spoke to, trust me I could have thrown a dart at the phone book and found anyone to do this, but I wanted Kitty because I felt she was honest, had integrity, and I could relate to her. I again walked into Gateway office and asked this time for Kitty! She wasn’t there but they called her and within minutes she and I were on the phone. Kitty remembered the first time we met and recalled what was going on. I told her that we have to move, and then she said the next thing I felt that lead me to believe that I found the right agent. She simply said, “I hoped that your family could have worked it out because it was such a beautiful home” and that’s what it is, our home. She gave the paperwork again, because I did through the first set away, and I completed all the paperwork and give it to her. Within hours of the house being listed we had offers. Now, during this time we were already living out of state and the house was vacant. This is where Larry came in, I have never met Larry, but Kitty said he’s an alright guy and she trusted him,?. Kitty was always there for us and no matter what curves that came our way, whether it was the first offer having to pull out, or when the flowers needed watering Larry & Kitty were there. We finally got through the process of the short sale and Kitty was there every step of the way and was always encouraging and made calls for me that I was just to drained to do I was willing to let the property foreclose and just walk away regardless of what that would do to our credit score, but Kitty as a true professional counseled me off the ledge and kept the path steady. With escrow now closed, along with that chapter in our family’s life, I will not forget Kitty and that I hope that the next time I buy a house in the state of California, and I will, and if Kitty will work with me; I will buy my next home with her. I don’t know how to say you should buy or sell a home with Kitty & Larry that others say about agents. I can only tell you that I trusted them with the biggest thing in my life, other than family, and felt that they cared and treated me like family.
