Bought a home in 2011.
Laurel is an excellent buyer's agent, having found for us a beautiful single family home very quickly in late fall 2011. She has a thorough understanding of real estate in Blacksburg, Virginia and does a great job doing Comparitive Market Analysis. She was professional, kind, and very helpful in dealing with our many requests and needs. Laurel was very knowledgeable regarding contract negotiations, inspection issues and closing. Bought a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $375K in Blacksburg, VA.
Laurel Coffey worked with us for a year. She understood what we were looking for, and showed us a range of appropriate houses. When the home that we bought came on the market, she recognized immediately that we would like it, and got us a viewing within 2 hours of the time that the home came on the market. Bought a home in 2011.
As a first-time home buyer, I would highly recommend Laurel as a buying agent. She's lived in the NRV area, so she understands the housing market very well. Her local experience helped weed out potential problem homes, help focus our attention to specific areas we might have liked based on our interests, etc. In the end, we ended up finding a house that Laurel hadn't recommended, but we expanded our search parameters without having told her first. She easily ran with it and immediately set up a tour, and helped facilitate visits to the house as often as we wanted. Her recommendations for a housing inspector was a wise suggestion, and all of her business contacts for repair estimates for plumbing/electrical/whatever were quite reliable.
As far as negotiations went, I think we as buyers had an unusually easy time of it, as the sellers were very flexible. That said, Laurel communicated everything in a timely fashion, and made sure anything we were responsible for was made clear to us in order to avoid any legal problems.
Our experience with Laurel as our buying agent was fantastic, not having any clue what we were doing. Extremely helpful, very professional, and inserted touches of personal opinion when it was appropriate. Highly recommended.…More Less
