Bought a Condo home in 2011 for approximately $550K in Hiller Highlands, Oakland, CA.
Lucy has helped us buy our home in the Hiller Highlands in May 2011. It has been a very pleasurable experience working with her as she has helped us look at multiple listings, make offers on three of them, and finally negotiate the house we settled on. She is very knowledgeable of the area, has worked all the details very well, and has kept on top of everything along the way. I would recomend her strongly.

Bought a Single Family home in 2010 for approximately $750K in Shafter, Oakland, CA.
Lucy helped us buy our home in Rockridge in December 2010, and we were very impressed with her service delivery from beginning to finish. Lucy has excellent local knowledge and is well-connected with contractors and a variety of specialists. This made the inspection process very smooth and quick since she always knew who to contact. In the end, we had gained a good understanding of the property, thanks to Lucy's suggestions & coordination effort. Lucy is also very responsive and turns around information requests quickly which is important when deadlines need to be met. Lucy clearly laid out every step along the way and defined expectations, all of which made us feel confident throughout the purchase process. If you are looking for an agent with a focus on customer service, Lucy is a great resource!

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $825K in Shafter, Oakland, CA.
We unhesitatingly recommend Lucy Armentrout to anyone looking to buy or sell a house in the East Bay. We met her at an open house in the summer of 2011, when we first contemplated moving to North Oakland from San Francisco, and we immediately liked her because she was helpful and relaxed -- not pushy or insincere.
A couple of months later, after we got our ducks in a row, we contacted Lucy and starting giving her our very detailed wish list. She listened to all we had to say and took us on as clients. Lucy was the third real estate agent we have worked with, and we would work with her again in a heartbeat. She always responded to our emails and calls super promptly with very well-informed and well-considered responses. It turns out that in addition to her many years of experience as a real estate agent, Lucy also has experience in city planning, which gave her some interesting insights on some of the properties we contemplated.
We were buying when the market was particularly tight (not a lot of housing stock and lots of all-cash way-over-asking offers that trumped our conventional mortgage) but we never ever questioned whether we had chosen the right agent to represent us. She's quite the analyst, which is great -- she thoroughly researched every house we bid on, providing very detailed housing comps for the neighborhood and assessing both the market and the particular seller's situation with each offer. She was also really flexible and responsive, enabling us to tweak our offer price at the last minute; with the house we ultimately purchased, we lowered our offer price at the last minute based on her advice, saving us 10k.
Lucy is very intelligent, knowledgeable, responsive, personable, and genuine -- as well as a very savvy negotiator: what more could you want in a real estate agent? Though in our case, we not only gained a wonderful house exactly where we'd hoped to land, we gained a friend.
