Lynn MacDonald helped me find my home in Belmont in 2008 and then helped me sell it in 2013 when it was time to down-size (and buy my delightful condo in Waltham). I cannot imagine a real estate agent with more integrity and competence than Lynn. She knows the market inside and out, making excellent use of both on-line tools and old-fashioned networking. She worked with me tirelessly on both occasions to help me determine what was best for me, nudging me skillfully away from my more fanciful visions toward what would truly make me happy. She negotiated great deals for me which were also fair. When I bought the older Belmont home, she helped me understand what was and was not going to be acceptable to the sellers in terms of remediation and we achieved appropriate accommodations. When I sold the house, she came in on the other side and I was on the hook for virtually nothing. The buyers felt they were lucky to be getting the house despite its signs of age. Lynn was brilliant in structuring the deal on my new condo, ensuring that I would win in the eventual bidding war that she had predicted. Oh and then, when there was a bidding competition of the sale of my Belmont home, Lynn;s sensitivity about the two buyers in contention helped guide me toward the couple who would prove to be the highest offer with the easiest terms. Honestly, right-sizing was a huge and ugly task that I was really wanting to put off, even as I knew it made sense.
