Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $175K in Columbus, GA.
My husband took a job in Columbus while I stayed in Texas. We began our long distance house search in January, that is when I met Margot. From January '12 until the end of July when we closed on our house, Margot was ever present source of help and patience. I flew in every month for 6 months and looked at houses with Margot. We were in constant communication during the search. It took 3 contracts before one worked out, but Margot didn't waiver in her commitment to finding us the perfect place. She continues to be a source of information for us as we settle into our new city and home. She is smart, resourceful and committed. We could not recommend her more highly!

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $150K in Columbus, GA.
Margot did a great job selling my home. We had been trying to sell the home for quite a while through other agents but we were not getting the desired result. After changing our listing agent to Margot we saw an immediate increase in the number of people looking at our property.

After a few months we had two offers on the same day. Margot helped us juggle the offers so that we could get the maximum sale price for our home.

I would not hesitate to recommend Margot to either a buyer or seller.

Bought a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $100K in Columbus, GA.
I should qualify my review by first saying that I am friends with Margot, her husband John, and their three kids, since they moved back to the states from Germany. I also work with her husband John.

To start, I was a first time buyer. I had been kicking around vague ideas of getting out of apartment living, and Margot contacted me out of the blue one day about a property that she had seen that made her think of me. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind--in fact, at the time, I wasn't quite sure what I had in mind. I had done some browsing online, but that was about it. So we began talking about what exactly it was that I was looking for. I knew I wanted brick, hardwoods, a good condition house, with some charm, age, character, and a safe neighborhood. She worked up a list and we spent a day exploring Columbus--mostly Midtown at first. Pretty quickly my list began to grow and Margot was extremely patient with me throughout the process, suggesting things to add and how to prioritize my list. At quite a few points, I wandered a bit and we explored those different options--it really helped a lot to see houses that had aspects of my wish list. During that time, we saw some scary places (almost got stung by yellow jackets), some so-so places, and we saw some beautiful ones as well. We traveled all over Columbus. Margot, as my buyer's agent, really helped me keep the process on azimuth--applying a little pressure when I needed it to keep me focused on the process and what I wanted. Finally, we found a house on the east side of town that was perfect for me...built in the 1950s, extremely well taken care of, and with lots of charm and some features I hadn't even considered--like a hot tub--at exactly the price I was looking for.

Margot helped me extensively with thinking through and executing the negotiation, financing, and preparation for closing. I didn't know much at the outset and feel like a learned a great deal in the process of working with her. For first-time buyers, I highly recommend Margot as a great agent to work with. I am extremely pleased with the deal I got on the house, the financing arrangement, and the closing went perfectly. The people at KPDK and Margot were great to work with, although I probably was a bit of a pain at times, trying to sort out exactly what I wanted and the conditions under which I wanted it.

All in all, I have been in my new house for a month and it has been great. I've given Margot a few calls here and there for recommendations on people to do some minimal work on the house (I needed to auger a drain from the washing machine and it's about time for a new roof), and she has always recommended people who are competent, customer-service oriented, and will do the work at a fair price.

One additional piece of information: For service members, it is worthwhile to consider Margot as your buyer's agent as she also understands the difficulties involved in frequent moving and being a new person in town, who needs to find a fairly priced house with good prospects for resale. (Her father is an O-6 in the Navy, so she grew up with frequent moves and being familiar with those types of considerations.)
