2013 TOP PRODUCER

Focused, professional service with a good dose of caring!  You will benefit from a load of experience in real estate and! expertise in interior design.

Are you an artist?  I have my own sculpture studio and understand your space and light needs.

I love love love to work with first time home buyers.  Exploring each property and determining what is their idea of home, what rooms are needed, pointing out architectural features, and seriously looking at the guts of the home: the electrical, the plumbing, the structure.  I give buyers all the available real estate material they will need to make an offer that will get accepted.

Selling homes has been successfully fast, e.g. 3 days, 9 days, 14 days! when I can set the right price based on market values, location, condition, size and competition.  With sellers, I review all the available real estate material so together we know why we determined the sale price.

I am a member of the National Association of Realtors, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, and the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors with a license to practice real estate in PA. I am active in the Girard Estate Neighbors Association and on their Zoning Committee and the West Passyunk Neighbors Association focusing on maintaining the livability of the Girard Estates Area where I reside.

My professional philosophy has always been and will be - honesty, integrity and knowledge.

A graduate of George Washington University, I received a bachelors in art history. For Real Estate, I attended Schlicher-Kratz Institute and Coldwell Banker Preferred''s 12-day "Boot Camp".

I have extensive experience in interior design with 25 years running my own design firm, Nevelson llc, in Center City.  I not only know about interior finishes for your home but have negotiated many contracts and directed many contractors through numerous renovations and new construction.  I also shared this knowledge while teaching at Parsons School of Design and Moore College of Art.

After living in the Rittenhouse Square Area for 20-something years, I relocated to the historic Girard Estates - a beautiful treed neighborhood of Colonial Revival, Tudor, Jacobean, Arts & Crafts Bungalow, Mission and Prairie style homes built back in 1906-1914 with old world craftsmanship.  COME SEE MY PARADISE!

Ratings & Reviews

She is professional, very responsible and most important cared about me as a buyer/investor. From her experience as an interior designer she understood the qualities of each house and what would translate into a good rental property. With minimal time, Maria was able to find an investment property in a neighborhood that worked for me. From the offer to the settlement, she moved through the paperwork efficiently and negotiated a good price. I plan to work with her again on a search for my next rental property. Also, she found excellent tenants. I highly recommend Maria.

Bought a home in 2014 in Alleghany West, Philadelphia, PA 19129.

Maria helped me to purchase my first home. She was great to deal with and put in substantial amount of time looking at houses in a numerous sections of the City. She was extremely knowledgeable about different neighborhoods and scrutinized each house we went through for possible problems.

Admittedly, it took me eight months to find the perfect house and we must have looked at well over a hundred properties. While many realtors may have been frustrated with the time it took me to find a place, Maria continuously reassured me that it was important to wait for the perfect house and never pressured me to settle.

When I finally decided on a house, Maria made going through the process of closing on the purchase a breeze. She explained every step of the process and always kept me updated with information from the seller.

From beginning to end, Maria made buying a home a great experience. I highly recommend anyone looking to buy a house in the Philadelphia area to contact Maria to see if she can help you find the perfect place.

Bought a Townhouse home in 2014 for approximately $225K in Wharton-Hawthorne-Bella Vista, Philadelphia, PA.

I worked with Maria during the past year as a first-time home buyer, and I found her to be extremely responsive and accommodating. (She showed me the house I ended up buying during a big snowstorm). I couldn't have asked for an easier experience from the first house she showed me to the end of the entire closing process. She tailored the houses that she showed me based on my feedback and preferences. She was never pushy, and I felt that she was quite honest about the properties that she showed me without trying to influence my opinion about them. Even after closing, Maria has given me solid advice and references for people to do some much needed work on the house. Highly recommend if you are looking to buy in South Philly!  More Less
