Hi Erica,If I were looking for an agent, the first thing I would do is ask for recommendations from friends and colleagues who have recently bought or sold property in your area. I would then call the up and arrange an interview in their office and explain to them you would like to meet because you want to hire an agent. If you don't have any friends who have bought or sold, go into some Sunday Open Houses's in the target area and chat with the agents face-to-face. You can easily find a smart and hard-working agent that way too.Irregardless of what some people on this forum think, I would suggest hiring a REALTOR, an agent who agrees to abide by the REALTOR code of ethics. I do believe that most members take the Code of Ethics seriously. Good luck!
Johnny,It sounds like you are buying a Bank-Owned property. With a bank-owned property you often have to jump through many different hoops just to get your offer looked at, let alone accepted. With a bank-owned property the banks write their own rules. They may request "proof of funds". That does not have to be your bank statements but it should be a letter from either your bank or your brokerage account stating that you have the liquid funds available to purchase the property and you are not relying on any contingent source of funding. You don't have to do this, but then you probably won't be considered a serious buyer by the bank, so I suggest you do what your agent asks you to do if you want the house.
Why is Zillow allowing these kinds of listings? Why would one need to give their credit card number to view a listing? Doesn't this debase the Zillow website? It makes everyone look sleazy!
Why do the Zillow gods allow this listing spam? Information wants to be free, remember? Yet this company won't release the address (if the property even exists) without signing up. What a load of crap!
What is the point of this listing? This spam foreclosure website wants you to register and pay for a subscription to get their information. It's a rip-off! That Zillow allows this just devalues their site.
This just looks like a spam listing to get people to subscribe to that crappy foreclosure website. Zillow should ban these people, as it makes devalues their site.
