Who is accurate local realtor or Zillow.

A local expert that is familiar with the market is always going to have superior knowledge about value and other compensating factors.Realtors have the knowledge and experience that is generally necessary to make a true statement about value. Zillow, while a powerful tool is used more for gathering averages and local data on a macro level but leaves out important things that can easily change once you cross a certain street or boundary line. Things like schools, social services (fire, police, etc) and ZIP codes can have a major effect on the value of a home. I would always consult with a local expert before taking any significant step! Highland Park will offer you a convenient location and prices should be affordable, however it is getting more and more popular here. I would even consider Pasadena. If you can stay near the Gold Line or south of the 210 freeway you can be to downtown in a matter of minutes by car. Lastly you may want to look into neighborhoods like El Sereno, Lincoln Heights and Mt. Washington
