Matt has been a real estate broker since 1996, and a real estate agent since 1988. He got his MBA from the executive program at San Jose State. He earned his J.D. in 1992, and began practicing law in 1993. In 1996, he became an LLM (Master at Law in taxation), which is an advanced law degree. He has studied real estate law extensively, and has a vast knowledge of mortgage law and practice under Roger Bernhardt, who is a preeminent mortgage law specialist. He keeps up to date on mortgage, landlord/tenant, and is a member of the real estate section of both the Santa Clara County and California State Bar. He is also a member of the Cal Bar Estate Planning section. Because he's building new homes, he plans to become a relocation specialist so he can work within Intero to find homes for executives coming into the area. Because he is trying to sell homes for some of the retiring members of our community, he plans to obtain his senior real estate specialist designation as well.More Less
He was born in San Francisco, and moved to Los Altos in 1966. He was designated as a certified real estate appraiser for a number of years. Our kids go to Loyola Elementary, and Matt is very involved on campus as the School Grounds Beautification Coordinator.
In 1998, Matt built 9 houses in Sunnyvale, "The Elms of Sunnyvale". Since then he has built homes in Palo Alto, Saratoga, West San Jose, Willow Glen, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Unincorporated Los Altos. He has been involved in approximately 75 real estate transactions, including purchases of lots, sales of finished homes, purchases of property for friends and family, purchases and sales of properties which I rehabilitated in Southern California. Locally, he has purchased tear-down properties and built more than 30 single-family homes. His strong point is to identify lots of value, which when developed will be aesthetically pleasing and add value to the subject property in the surrounding neighborhood. He is a certified green building professional.
