Bought a Townhouse home in 2012 for approximately $500K in Capitol Hill, Washington, DC.

Summary:

Megan Shapiro just recently helped me to find and buy what was essentially my first house (it has been 10 years since the last house). Meg could not have been a better agent to help me. She showed me lots of houses, and always within the range of prices that I told her that I could afford. She never showed me anything beyond the price that I felt comfortable with, although had I asked to see a house that was beyond my budget, Meg would have gladly helped me out (just like when I asked to see a house below my budget range, Meg was right there that afternoon to show me the house). Meg was not pushy and completely respected the fact that I was slightly nervous and definitely a commitment phobe. Meg was always professional with the other agents that I saw her interact with. Because Meg lives on the Hill (and she has lived on the Hill for awhile) her knowledge of the area and neighborhoods was tremendous.

All this and Meg is truly a wonderful, lovely person with a good sense of humor and a great person to spend time looking at house with.…More Less

Bought a home in 2012.

Summary:

I worked with Meg to buy my house in Capitol Hill. She was extremely responsive, most E-mails were answered within 10minutes. She kept me up-to-date on all the steps in the process and looked out for my interest.

She did not push any properties on us and was very patient.

She is well connected in this area and has trusted connections with all facets of buying/selling/rental markets.

Overall, exactly what I want in a Realtor.

Sold a home in 2011.

Summary:

We met Megan at a Capitol Hill open house and were impressed with her knowledge of the Hill market and her easy going demeanor. Months later, when we were ready to purchase a new home, we called Megan to both help us put an offer in on the new home and to sell our current house. She was wonderful to work with as both a buying and selling agent. We always felt well represented in negotiating the offer to buy our new house. Megan also guided us through the process to get our house ready for sale. Thanks to her expertise and advice, we were able sign a contract to sell our house in 5 days with multiple offers. Megan made the entire process as stress free as possible. Megan Shapiro
I grew up nearby in Rockville, Maryland, and went to high school in DC. I then spent 12 wonderful years living in New Orleans and Atlanta. In my past lives, I traveled around the world working for CNN's Turner International Sales Office, and started and ran a restaurant in Atlanta with my husband.

Capitol Hill welcomed my family with open arms in 2002. We currently own 2 businesses and send our kids to school here, and we still can't get over how lucky we are to be in such a wonderful community with some of the world's greatest amenities steps away. I want to help everyone find that happiness, wherever it might be for them.

George Olson
I was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Los Altos, California about 45 miles south of San Francisco. I went to college at the University of California, Davis and studied Environmental Policy. After a stint in the Central African Republic doing fish farming with the Peace Corps I returned to the San Francisco Bay Area and started working with a high tech firm. This led me to Washington, DC in 1989, and working as a medical systems consultant on a variety of Department of Defense Projects world wide. My wife and I met in DC, then moved to Kaneohe, Hawai'i for four years before having the first of our three children, then moving back to Capitol Hill.

The Washington area is a great place to live and I often feel like I'm selling a lifestyle as much as an address. My wife and I bought an old house, renovated it and watched our neighbors do the same thing. We feel we've helped build our community, and I get great satisfaction helping others discover DC's many different neighborhoods as well.
