Bought a Other home in 2012 in Bernal Heights, San Francisco, CA.
I had the good fortune of meeting Melissa in April 2012 shortly after selling my single-family San Francisco home of 24 years. Purely by chance as I was walking in my neighborhood, I saw a For Sale sign for a condominium and called the number to request an opportunity to view the unit. Melissa responded and met me at the property. At that time I was merely looking to see what condos were selling for and had no intention of buying immediately. I was planning to travel abroad for the summer and couldn’t get serious about a purchase until my return in late Fall.
I immediately recognized Melissa’s ability to listen and understand my objectives and interests. She was more than happy to schedule appointments for me to see additional properties knowing full well that I wasn’t really in the market to buy property at that time. Nevertheless, she treated me like a willing and able client and continued showing me properties before my travel began. And while I was away for the summer, she continued to keep in contact just to apprise me of current market conditions in San Francisco.
When I returned to San Francisco in November 2012, Melissa was prepared and eager to show me new properties. One of the things that impressed me most was how she continued to check in with me regarding what was most important (side-by-side garage parking, outdoor deck space, amenities, etc.) and tailoring our property viewings to condos that met my ever-changing priorities.
It was clear that Melissa understands and has an in-depth knowledge of the San Francisco real estate market, and more specifically, she is very knowledgeable about the TIC and Condo markets, which was particularly important to me as a first-time condo buyer. She shared not only her own knowledge of these markets, but also provided reliable outside reading and online resources to help me learn the ins and outs of purchasing a condo.
With each property I considered, Melissa focused on direction and strategy and when I finally said, “Yes, let’s put in an offer,” Melissa wasted no time in securing, reviewing and advising me on the disclosure documents.
Throughout the process Melissa was patient and focused and answered every request for more information, documents and details. She was a true advocate for my interest while not making me feel pressured in any way. Melissa is a strong negotiator and she worked successfully with the seller’s agent to reach a most satisfactory agreement.
My offer on the selected property included a 10-day close of escrow, which meant getting the inspections and documentation completed quickly. Even this didn’t seem to phase Melissa. She continued to act professionally and was there for me every step of the way. She was present during the close of escrow and made sure I understood the documents, language and details of the transaction.
After the close of escrow and the keys were delivered, Melissa continues to be here for me. She continues to be responsive to my questions and requests for clarity and strategy as I am becoming acquainted with owning a condo and being a member of the homeowner’s association.
Additionally, Melissa’s background in interior design is proving very valuable. She continues to show a great interest in our remodeling plans and has been a great resource for local contractors and specialists.
Melissa isn’t only my agent of choice, she has become a part of my circle of friends and I look forward to knowing Melissa for years to come. She’s personable and smart. Melissa has a great sense of humor and one of the strongest work and customer service ethics I’ve ever encountered.
As a result, I feel comfortable recommending Melissa’s outstanding real estate services to my friends. In fact, I already have.
Bought a Condo home in 2010 in Yerba Buena, San Francisco, CA.
Melissa, thank you for the guidance, knowledge and absolutely wonderful level of service that you showed me during the process of buying my new home. You provided me with a very high (and much needed) level of comfort and always clearly explained every detail and nuance along the way.
Needless to say, buying a new home is a fairly complex process and involves a lot of moving parts, and you always found a way to have it all make sense to me. You always got back to me in a very timely manner, and always seemed to have a smile on your face throughout it all.
In this day and age it seems to be getting harder and harder to find good customer care and service, and it was refreshing to go through an experience that countered that trend. Thank you for that, thank you for getting me into my new home.
Bought a Multi Family home in 2012 for approximately $825K in North Panhandle, San Francisco, CA.
My wife and I were virgin home buyers this spring, and were relatively new to SF. We had encountered many realtors at open houses and hemmed and hawed about working with any of them for our search. When we met Melissa, we knew we would be in good hands -- and our experience exceeded our expectations. From the get-go, Melissa treated us like her most important clients: providing friendly and informed advice, being patient as she explained the basics to us several times, and consistently being responsive and on the ball in the wings. While buying a house is never stress-free, Melissa made our experience as smooth and simple as possible. We love our new home and are glad Melissa made it a reality.
We decided to buy our first home in San Francisco city and started with just browsing online and attending open houses. We quickly realized that the market is really tough especially with the recent tech boom. Condo sellers were receiving multiple offers and homes were selling for much higher than asking price. Some for all cash offers. We were discouraged and felt that we didn't stand much chance without the help of a real estate agent who was aggressive, organized and well connected.
We met Melissa on a Sunday evening and we loved her energy, positivity and knowledge of the real estate market. She was very detail oriented and really tried to understand what we wanted in our first home. She immediately had couple of homes in mind that fit our criteria. The first home we saw with Melissa was perfect, more than we had hoped for in our first home.
Melissa’s insider knowledge of potential price reduction resulted in first dibs on the condo and we received a significant discount because of her relationship with the brokerage community. We were in contract the next Sunday after meeting Melissa!
She knew exactly what we wanted, helped us get in quickly and guided us through every step until the close of escrow. She was also resourceful in helping us find an array of contacts in the industry after the close of escrow including interior designer, furniture dealer, contractor and many others. We have been in our first home for few months now and loving every moment of it.
Looking back, Melissa made the impossible happen for us. We still think it is a dream that we found what we wanted in just one week after meeting Melissa in a market where the inventory is less than the demand.
Bought a Single Family home in 2011 in Twin Peaks, San Francisco, CA.
My husband and I met Melissa at an open house in the Lower Pacific Heights where she was the seller’s agent. We got chatting about the property, and were so impressed with her energy and obvious organizational skills that we asked her to be our buyer’s agent. We were in the market for a single family home, which would suit my husband’s job in town and my Palo Alto commute. My husband had purchased a number of New York City properties but we were novices to buying in San Francisco, though were renters here for a few years.
On day one, Melissa came to our home and presented us with a very well researched homebuyer’s package, outlining the process we should expect, and customized to our needs and preferences. Over the next number of months, Melissa worked tirelessly to find us our home. She keep us informed of properties coming on the market, often, just off the press, organized early viewings, viewings at odd hours that suited our schedule, and even on one occasion when we were out of town, photographed and made a floor plan of a house we were interested in. No task was too onerous for Melissa, and no time of the day or evening out of bounds to contact her.
Melissa worked patiently with us throughout the process. We never felt pressurized or rushed to purchase a property that did not fulfill our requirements. It was clear that Melissa was most interested in getting us the home we wanted, not one that was most convenient for her.
After viewing many homes, we eventually decided on a property. The market was really becoming very competitive, and late on a Saturday night, we called Melissa to say we were interested. She instantly contacted the Seller’s agent, was informed there was other bids on the property, and drafted an offer with us. It was midnight on Saturday. After multiple communications, offer and counteroffer, our bid was accepted. Melissa’s ability to negotiate on our behalf was superb.
We wished to have our inspections early and also meet with an Architect and Contractor to view the home. Within 48 hours Melissa had organized for all relevant parties to meet at the house, and we were ready to remove all contingencies. This was not at all surprising because throughout our dealings with Melissa, she was always able to access any professional we needed at a minutes’ notice, with ease and grace.
Melissa is a consummate professional, patient, honest and trustworthy. She is knowledgeable, extremely well organized and relentless in finding the home you desire. We would recommend her highly to anyone either buying or selling a property, and she’ll definitely be our first choice if/when we are in the market again.
When beginning the process of looking for a home to buy in SF, it was very overwhelming! However, Melissa came along and straightened everything out!
We had a very specific list of things that were important to us. It took 4 months, and Melissa was helpful and patient every step of the way. She took our laundry list of necessities and ran with it! She wholeheartedly understood and supported everything we were asking for, and showed us many homes that were all on the mark.
Working with her was fun, and productive. We were on the same page the whole way through and we eventually found our unique, modern home that fit the bill in every way!
It's been 3 months and we are enjoying it, and so thankful the process was handled smoothly, professionally, and enthusiastically!
Bought a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $825K in Glen Park, San Francisco, CA.
Melissa has been a great resource and guide throughout our entire home buying process. Her professionalism exceeded all our expectations, and she constantly went above and beyond what is expected to ensure that we were well taken care of.
When we found the home that we were interested in, Melissa stayed up late with us (past 1 am!) to go through all the disclosure forms for the property, and strategized a plan with us to make sure that we got our best offer in before the next day (we are working with a very short time-frame as we are expecting a baby and plans to find a place before she arrives). We got a call from her the very next day, telling us that our offer was accepted!
As we were going through the closing process, Melissa patiently walked us through each step of the way, and helped us organized all the necessary documents to finalize the close. At the close, we were presented with the keys to our new home, a bottle of champagne and a very cute baby outfit for our daughter! Even after the close, she continued to check in on us, and provided us recommendations on contractors and advice on how to work with our HOA.
Melissa will follow through on her promises and we appreciate her honesty in all the professional advice she has provided us throughout and after the buying process. We highly recommend her and have already referred friends to her!
Bought a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $1.0M in North Panhandle, San Francisco, CA.
Melissa is a very special realtor, a one-of-a-kind difference maker.
Throughout the process she was our devoted guide and advocate–super-knowledgeable, always available, and endlessly patient. She was so in tune with our needs and interests that she anticipated what kind of place would be best for us before we did.
Despite a competitive bidding situation, she managed to negotiate a price reduction for us! And during an extremely difficult closing period, when our dream seemed to fall out of reach, she found a lender who would work with us to secure financing.
Melissa's unwavering support, tenacity, and ingenuity got us to the finish line. Without her, we would not have our dear home, the place where we and our beloved daughter will flourish for years to come. Thank you for everything, Melissa!
Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $975K in Buena Vista Park, San Francisco, CA.
As a first-time homebuyer, I greatly appreciated Melissa's guidance throughout this complicated process. San Francisco is a challenging and fast-moving market, so you will need someone who is really on top of things.
She helped show me around the neighborhoods, understood what I wanted, and found my dream home. Melissa moved fast, got me a private showing, understood the sellers' goals, and helped me put together a preemptive offer that was accepted before the first open house even happened.
Due to issues with my lender, the escrow was rocky at times. Melissa made sure to keep me informed, remove all the roadblocks, keep the process moving along, and we closed escrow on time.
Melissa worked tirelessly, never missed an appointment, and answered her phone and email at all hours (even when she was thousands of miles away on vacation!). I wouldn't have the home that I do now if it weren't for Melissa, and I would recommend her without reservation to anyone!
Bought a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $800K in Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco, CA.
Melissa Elaina is the real estate agent that you need. She is passionate, upbeat, and always has your best interest in mind and at heart.
We started our home buying process with a low esteem of realtors and Melissa changed our opinion. She knows how to navigate the competitive, fast-moving SF housing market, and ultimately got us in a home that we are sure we would not be in if Melissa was not our agent.
Leveraging her relationships in the industry, Melissa got our offer accepted when we were not the top offer. She also negotiated a closing credit, and managed the entire closing process flawlessly. As first time home buyers we had a lot of questions, Melissa was always there to answer them and put our minds at ease.
We would use her again in a second, and would recommend her friends and family.
