When my wife and I started the process of looking for our first home ownership we hired Michael immediately because he is my wife's brother. We already knew Michael was a naturally gifted gregarious person, the type who would be talking to everyone in a section at Petco before the game was over with mutual enjoyment. We also knew that after becoming a real estate agent Michael was doing very well for himself, confirmation that his decision to leave route sales was justified. What we did not know is how utterly professional Michael is his dealings of real estate. After looking for 3 weeks without seeing anything of interest we made an appointment to see a home based on pictures in the MLS. We quickly discovered the reality of the house was even better than the pictures. As soon as we walked out of the house Michael made an offer. We were the fifth offer on the house that Sunday, but fortunately after a short bidding war our offer was accepted and we opened escrow. The first obstacle in escrow was an appraisal review that was $35K under the first appraisal. That first appraisal was only a thousand over our winning bid for the house. We adjusted our offer, which was accepted by the sellers. For five weeks there were constant delays to the escrow from the sellers and their agent. The seller’s agent did not help with our comfort level since he was anything but forthcoming about the delays. By the end of the fourth week we were ready to cancel escrow. Michael was the rock in the torrent of this entire transaction which had become an ordeal, utterly unphased by the "sticky" dealings of the seller’s agent. Best of all, Michael was able to calmly rekindle our excitement for the home when we were angry at the sellers and their agent and wanted to walk on the deal. Michael's professionalism also extended to the consultants he suggested we use. On our side of the escrow everyone involved in the process was great, doing what they said they would do when they said they would do it, even under the expedited timing requests of the sellers. I am very stingy about recommending people to others for professional services. Michael Salois will not disappoint you, professionally, ethically, or morally. Real estate transactions are fraught with the potential to become an ordeal. Having Michael as your agent will make the experience as pleasant as it can be.
