I have refinanced 3 times in the past 4 yrs with other companies. With the others, there always seemed to be issues...need more $$ at closing, needed papers resigned, took months to finalize. So I looked at several new lenders and found Mike with Merrimack. He was able to offer me the same rate as 2 other lenders but they both wanted over $2,000 to close. Mike gave me the same rate (2.785% for 15yr) with $0 closing costs and they even paid me $500 to use them.
I spoke to him once on the phone and emailed about 15 times over the past 30 days. That was it! Just like all the other reviews say, he literally emails or calls back with in minutes every time. Very impressive. It was all so simple, quick, and easy. I highly recommend Mike and have so far told 2 others who will be contacting him soon.
I recommend calling a few companies to see your options but if they are all in line with what Mike quotes you use him. I promise you wont have a better more easy time closing.

We did refinance with cash-out via Merrimack Mortgage. I did not expect any snags and Merrimack delivered. After providing required documentation via e-mail, we were asked to send two additional documents related to our second property (vacation condo). 4 weeks after lock-in we closed and check was wired to our bank account. Micheal Barret and his team were very professional and maintained email communication through the process. Good Job!

Top notch experience with Michael Barrett. He was very quick to respond to all of my questions and was very knowledgable regarding my mortgage refinancing process. Michael provided a great rate on a no points, no closing cost loan and met all of his commitments. The entire process from initial quote to closing was painless and fast. I have an older friend who doesn't have a computer; I helped her get a mortgage online with Michael Barrett's help. The process was complicated by the fact my friend and I live on opposite sides of the country, and she was often unavailable during the day because she works nights. Michael was very patient through all the delays and logistical complications that inevitably came up. His responses were always very quick, often instantaneous. The whole process went like clockwork from his end. Everything worked exactly as he said it would and closing estimates were spot-on. He was very flexible about scheduling the closing after 5pm to accommodate our schedules. From beginning to end, the process took a couple of months, but all the delays were our fault, not his. My friend's prior mortgage was through Bank of America, and she tried to refinance with them, but they gave her the runaround and refused her in the end. It was a completely different experience with Michael. My friend is now paying hundreds of dollars per month less than she was before.

Michael was incredibly responsive and provided the most competitive rate that I was able to find. Even though I had some problems submitting my forms, he was on top of the entire process and kept me in the loop the whole time. I will definitely use him again if I need to refinance in the future!

Completed our refi thru Michael Barrett / Merrimack. Contacted him after seeing good reviews here in zillow. Very good experience. Good rates, complete application process was done electronically (email / scanned docs). Final closing was done at our home in the evening. Highly recommend his services.

The fastest gun in town! He responds to any questions almost instantaneously, no question is "too dumb," he takes the time to walk you through the options. His staff and collaborators are equally professional, efficient and thorough. The quotes he presented were very competitive (I had to refuse another couple of very nice brokers because Michael just beat their best shot by almost a couple thousand bucks), and the whole experience was very positive. I will definitely use him again for another house purchase or refinance (this time it was a refinance.) I have recommended him to my family and friends, and will recommend him to any and all who ask.

Michael responded to my initial request for refinancing very quickly, and he initiated a very efficient application process that I was able to complete within one week, during which time he secured the low interest rate on a 15-year mortgage that I was seeking. He was professional and competent and instilled confidence in me as his customer. He quickly responded to all of my questions, and orchestrated the completion of the refinancing process in half the time that I initially expected it would take. He followed up with me at all key points in the process to ensure that all questions and concerns were addressed, and the entire process was completed by phone, online application, e-mail and scanning of required documents. The closing at my home was completed on schedule and took only one hour. I highly reommend Michael and Merrimack Mortgage to anyone looking to refinance their mortgage.

I would give Michael a 5+ star on each and every category! Here's why:
* extremely proactive: I have refinanced a few times over the past few years, and Michael is always proactive in reaching out to me as interest rates have changed. I feel like he's looking out for my interests.
* very responsive: Any time I have had a question, or something needed to be followed-up on, Michael gets back to me within the hour.
Through multiple transactions over the past few years, Michael has earned my trust and business in an area that is highly complex (for laypersons like me) and has simplified the process for me, as well as helped me save money. I work for a company that practices continuous improvement in every aspect of the job, and in the case of Michael I am at a loss to identify a single area where he could be better - he's that good. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for honest, straightforward mortgage banker who is trust worthy and looks out for your interests as well.
