Bought a home in 2012.
We picked Mike Wochner out of the blue not having asked anyone about who we should go with. We got lucky as he was extremely knowledgable, helpful, and responsive to all our questions, needs and desires. He always went above and beyond the call of duty and was always available when we needed him to be. Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $225K in Big Bear City, CA.
I have purchased and sold many properties, and I have had some great realtors or so I thought, until Mike. This is the BEST! He will go beyond the best for you. He is honest, nice, genuine and knows Big Bear very well. I knew it was going to be a challenge to buy a house out of town and somewhere I had never been before. Mike and I emailed back and forth for a week of two and by the time I a got there, I felt like I knew the place, and Mike really listened to me about what I was looking for. During the closing process he spent many hours scanninng documents back and forth at night while on the phone walking me through all the paperwork. He even met the water company at the house to have the water turned on so he could find out if the plumbing was ok!

He was not trying to sell us house but instead he was trying to find exactly what we been looking for and he find it. He was always available when we needed him. Even we were "small" clients he treated us as VIPs. In our case we bought house in May 2012 with NO money down and very low interest through government program. Bought a home in 2012.
It's obvious when you meet Mike that he's a great guy, someone you can trust. My only concern with Mike was he going to be too nice when it came time to negotiate. Once we started to negotiate on a property it was obvious that was not a problem. He's fair, but will not allow you to be pushed around. There where times when he became more fired up than I was about a ridiculous counter. Great agent to have on your side.

Mike is without a doubt one of the best realtors I've had the chance to work with. He helped the firm I work for sell a home in Big Bear early in 2012 and he made the experience very enjoyable.

Upon first meeting Mike, I was able to easily determine that he had a deep understanding of the market in Big Bear. He was also very prepared and professional. More importantly, I could tell from that first meeting that Mike was someone who would work very hard for me, furthermore that he was someone I could truly trust. This was huge because the property was an REO that Mike had the listing on previously. Typically, my firm would pursue a new realtor in this situation, however this was the first time we decided to stick with the original listing agent due to our comfort level with him.

It's hard to completely touch on his professionalism but I'll simply say that we put him in an awkard position by originally accepting one of two deals from a propsective buyer who decided not to pursue a purchase. It nearly lost him the deal with the second buyer and potentially ruined his relationship with that person as well. However, he was able to save the deal for both parties involved and it worked out for everyone when all was said and done. Through the entire debacle Mike remained calm and professional and never once lost his composure. I can't honestly say that I wouldn't have lost my "cool" in the same situation.

Although I manage a number of REO assets with my firm and it goes against my grain by saying I can't wait to work with Mike again, I would jump at the opportunity to work with him in the future!

Mike helped our family buy a lakefront property in early 2012, and we would absolutely use him again if the opportunity presents itself.

It was very comfortable working with Mike. No drama. No pressure. No games. He clearly listened well whenever we dicussed our interests in a property, because he never steered us in the wrong direction as we looked at homes.

He worked with us exactly the way we needed him to. He was available every time we asked to be shown homes, and he was very knowledgable about the properties on the market - not just the homes that we'd been scheduled to visit, but also others that we asked him about randomly during the course of our search.

Throughout the entire process, he was exceptionally responsive via phone, email and text - usually replying within an hour or two to any question we had, whether we were house-hunting or going through escrow.

As we entered the negotiation phase that ultimately lead to opening escrow, he represented our interests very well; gave us great insight; and he never pushed us in one direction or another.

As stressful as home-buying can be, Mike was a real bright spot in the experience.

How did we end up choosing Mike in the first place? Well, having watched properties come on and off the market in BBL for the last serveral years, we got the distinct impression that The Tim Wood Group was one of the more successful agencies in the area, and they had quite a lot of listings among the sort of properties we were most interested in. So they had to be doing something right, and at the very least they would be experts in the local market. So we chose a winning team and were lucky to be paired up with Mike.

Bought a home in 2011.
When we decided to purchase a second home in Big Bear, I contacted several agents about property that they had listed. After speaking with several of them, they did not impress me as people that were truly interested in us or our needs. Then, I ran across a listing held by Mike. I contacted Mike about the listing, and although that property had just entered escrow with another buyer, Mike struck me as an agent that was genuinely interested in working with us to find the right property. So, we started to work with Mike and my instincts were absolutely correct. Mike was knowledgeable, responsive, patient, understanding, cooperative, and was confident that a property meeting our needs would materialize. He clearly understood our needs and our budget and he worked hard to locate properties within those parameters. Although we were already somewhat familiar with the area, Mike would point out aspects of properties that we show consider such as the facing direction of properties, access issues, or potential road noise. He continuously demonstrated that he was concerned about our best interests. Ultimately, we found an ideal property for us in Big Bear City and we are now enjoying some mountain living. So, if you're interested in a pleasant buying or selling experience from the standpoint of having the right agent, go see Mike!

We have been in the home a little over two months now and it's location is just right for our needs. Once we found the right home I was also very impressed with his negotiation skills. Very tough and long close due to negotiations and the buyers bank and their ridiculous requests. Mike stayed on top of the entire closing process daily and always kept in communication with me. Mike was highly recommended to me and I am very glad I choose Mike to represent us in this transaction.
