I myself was trying to find an agent in another state to purchase an investment and I couldn't get the lady to even call me back for a week, would only show me her listings, and finally told me she couldn't help me! I found another agent in the same office that sent me available listings within 2 hours of contact.
What it comes down to, is experience, drive, and goals. Find a lazy agent, get lazy results. If agents work hard for their clients, pay out of pocket costs, and close the deal, there is a big payoff at the end. It's a high risk, high reward job. Many people jump into real estate thinking there going to make big bucks by driving someone around for a weekend, sign a contract, and then wait to get paid. Its a joke!
Please, Please, Please buyers/sellers out there. Get experienced agents that want your business, there are many of us out here. You may have to go thru several, but you will find that diamond, and when you do, reward us by referrals. If you go to a bad restaurant, do you stop eating out? Or do you go to another one and see if you like their service? Same thing.
I'm not saying to find an agent that will list your home for what you think its worth even though 3 other told you your expectations are too high, what I am saying is find experience, and take the advise, listen, we don't just want your money, we want to sell your house and make you as much profit as you can get and still sell the property.
That's my two cents for the day, I have to watch CSI now....I love TiVo! Thanks for listening!
