About Nida Makein

My family is orginally from Cambodia and moved to Seattle after I was born.  I grew up in South Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Sociology.  Right before I graduated, I traveled to Cambodia where I met some of my extended family for the first time.  Seeing the beautiful ruins of Angkor Wat with my family was one of the best experiences I have ever had.  After college I joined Americorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) for a year in Visalia, California and then lived in San Diego for another 3 years.  Wanting to be closer to my family we moved back to Seattle and loving it.
