Is there anyway to use this site with dial-up?

Answer
I used dial up on the site exclusively for  2.5 years, up until 2 weeks ago.Turning off images helps; but it is actually the JAVA SCRIPT that causes most of the problems. You don't need Java Script if you are not posting and not using the interactive maps and property lookups. But the real solution is to use FireFox and the add-on "ad blocker plus", and create custom filters.  On the "mixed bag" category a couple months ago, I posted what filters I'm using.

How do I take my home off this website completely?

Answer
Last time I posted how to remove the data on Zillow, the Zillow employees sent me an E-mail to "slap me on the wrist", and they deleted my answer, so I'm not allowed to tell you.

How does any one get credit when you don't owe any one?

Answer
Credit rating is based on payment history; not on whether you owe money.  If you own no money and have income and assets, your rating is usually higher than if you have debt.  Don't take on debt just to get a credit rating.Credit cards should be for "convenience", nothing else.  Never let a balance accumulate.

why is the newly-announced $6500 tax credit only for people that have owned their home 5 of 8 years?

Answer
The 5 year ownership requirement was put in to keep if from being used by "house flippers" and "speculators".   The speculators and flippers caused most of the "bubble problem" and congress is trying to minimize repeating that.

The interactive map no longer scrolls?

Answer
just press the left mouse button on the map, hold and drag to where you want that spot.It is true that the cursor arrows on the map were removed, but they were redundant and just cluttered the image.

My agent left all the amenities off the original contract abd blaming me for not asking her why?

Answer
Since you state it was a "short sale"; I believe your realtor advised you correctly to leave out the appliances from the offer as that money wouldn't go to the lending institution, and the lending institution was already taking a loss.THUS, it is the "advertiser" (the seller's agent) that is "at fault", and should be SUED for "false advertising".  But you better have clear documentation and a copy of the original advertisement, and evidence that you offered at least what was asked for in the advertisement. If you do decide to sue, I would do "small claims" court as you won't need to hire a lawyer, the filing fee is fairly small, you can file for up to $5,000, and you can waste enough of the realtor's time that they may just settle with you to avoid wasting their time. Now if it wasn't a "short sale", I would sue your own agent for breach of contract and not representing your interests, and would also file formal complaints with the better business bureau, the local realtor board, and the state board since it is clear that the realtor intentionally ripped you off under those conditions.  But you better have the documentation or you are wasting your time and may be required by the judge to pay the other party's legal costs. Most people won't sue nor even file a complaint as they just don't want to spend the time and the effort.  So, you can stay mad for decades, or you can decide earlier to just forgive them and let it go.

Do you think they will extend the $8000 tax credit? The market is so crazy right now in so cali. Pro

Answer
98-0 ----> the 2 senators from each state represent the "states" issues, not the people.  Thus they are looking at "property tax".12 voted against it in the House.  Well, they ARE supposed to represent the people, but everyone knows they don't represent the people but rather the mega-corporations and the multi-billionaires.  Thus they are voting again to bail out the banks that are still on the verge of insolvency. What it really states is that all these politicians know that housing prices are still highly inflated across the nation, and that they would fall off the cliff if the credit suddenly stopped.  It also indicates they know the pool of "first time buyers" is quickly drying up.So, the real question now is what they will do in April as this short "crutch" is not going to get them very far into the coming 3 year back log of loan defaults.

How do i know if an appraisel is accurate and the appraiser was honest?

Answer
"Recovers"?  You mean when prices will be 40% lower than presently? The volume of sale and the bubbling prices was what was "abnormal", thus recovery must mean allowing that to correct.Or perhaps you just mean after the 3 more years of back-log of loan defaults based on coming resets and too high loan to value ratios? And of course people are still losing jobs and still not getting hired at the rates of layoff, thus the inventory of available housing should still be rising for some time to come, especially with baby boomers retiring and moving to retreat housing, retirement housing, or institutional housing...

can a appraiser be held accountable for there numbers?

Answer
Last time an appraiser gave me a number that didn't look reasonable, I explained to the appraiser why no one in their right mind would believe the number, and he re-did it.  There was no problem.
