Team reviews

We worked with Barry Wolf, one half of the husband and wife team. To put it simply, if it were not for him, we probably wouldn't have our home today. There are few things that set him apart and are precisely the qualities you want in your buying agent. He understands the client's requirements and is very balanced in his opinions about what might or might not work for you, without being overbearing. We first looked at the market with Barry's help during the homebuyer's credit time period, almost bought a house but were outbid (turned out to be good for us in the end) and lost interest. Barry understood. At that point, he had already spent a lot of time for us, but never questioned out decision to take a break. That break turned out to be for 4 years. Four years later, I called Barry, which he answered immediately while on a long drive to Chicago. We were immediately on the same page, as if no time had passed. This time we already knew what the neighborhoods were where we might get what we need, so we didn't to look around much. We were expecting a baby and wanted to look at houses but move after the baby was born. Barry, wisely, strongly recommended that we try to move before the baby, as it would be easier on us. We took his advice, he made sure everything was done in time, and we moved in with still a few weeks to go. These are just a couple of examples based on our experience why one would want someone like him on their side.

Bought a home in 2013.

My husband and I worked with Pat and Barry Wolf to purchase our home in October of 2013. We were relocating to Wilmington from Houston so when we started looking for realtors, we knew that they would be a crucial part of our success in finding a home. I looked around on some forums and found the name of 5 realtors that seemed to come highly recommended. I called all 5, left voicemails for 4 of them because they didn't answer their phones, and actually spoke with Barry because he was the only one who picked up his phone. After a 10 minute conversation with him, I felt fairly certain that he was he person I wanted.

We gave Barry our criteria and together, we compiled a list of houses to see. On our first trip there, we spent two days seeing about 25 or so houses. He cleared his entire schedule so that we had his undivided attention. Working with Barry was a fascinating learning experience. He has a vast knowledge of houses. With every house that we saw, he would take out his flashlight, and point out the condition/features of things we had limited knowledge of like roofing material, foundation quality, size of beams, retaining walls, sump pumps, and more things I can't remember right now. His knowledge really helped us steer away from houses that could have been potential money pit disasters.

Unfortunately, on that first trip, we didn't find a house that called to us, so we scheduled our second trip for 6 weeks later. When we went there, we had another dozen or so houses to see. We had our list ready and Barry had a last minute addition that had just come on to the market. That day, we found two wonderful houses, one of which was the one the Barry added.

The two houses were priced very similarly, similar in square footage and had very comparable features. One of the houses offered the realtor a bonus if they sold that house. It was fairly sizeable and Barry disclosed that to us. However, that incentive didn't make Barry pressure us into buying that house. Instead, he gave us space to make our own decision without trying to influence us at all. When in the end we chose to go with the house that did NOT have the realtor incentive, Barry said that we made the better choice and it was the one that he would have made himself.

Closing and the accompanying paperwork went smoothly. We moved in and Barry assured us that if we ever needed anything, that he would be there for us. For most people, those are empty words, but a few months later, Barry proved that he meant what he said. While we had houseguests that summer, there was a sewage overflow in our basement!! It was awful. It was a long weekend and everyone I called refused to come until two days later. Finally in tears, I called Barry, hoping he would know someone who might be able to help. Within an HOUR, he had the people who installed our septic system (three of them!) show up to inspect our system, a master plumber to see if there was a problem in the pipes in our house, and the septic tank pumpers to find and eliminate the problem if it was outside our home. Barry, himself, also came to the house to look at the problem and to lend some moral support. I don't know of anyone besides Barry who could have made that happen.

I would highly encourage you to work with Barry. He is extremely honest and will tell you exactly what he thinks. We found our dream house, thanks to him, and I would not hesitate to contact him if I had any house question in the future.

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $250K in Bear, DE.

Hiring Pat Wolf was one of the best experiences in my life.I decided to move South but I didn't know where to start. Pat assured me that everything would go well. She arranged to make a few repairs and freshen the colors of the walls and rugs. The response from the open house was great! I had several offers that week and I accepted one of the highest prices offered in the development. Settlement was smooth and orderly with no surprises. Pat is easy to work with, really does her homework, and has a great sense of style. I recommended Pat Wolf to help my Daughter sell her home.

I was a first-time home buyer and Patricia Wolf was very professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful throughout the whole home buying process. She explained every step of the process to me and made sure I was prepared for everything. She was very easy to work with and took the stress out of buying my first home. I will absolutely use her again and I highly recommend her.

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $550K in Middletown, DE.

I worked with Barry and Pat on the sale of three homes and the purchase of two. They were both incredibly knowledgeable and responsive through every step of the process. They assisted with staging our homes to sell quickly and for above market price. They helped smooth the process throughout inspection and settlement. They had contacts to help with everything from home repairs to getting the best mortgage rates. I have referred them to many friends and we have all had the same great experience. Home buying and selling can be an extremely stressful process but they truly helped to make it as painless as possible.

Bought a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $350K in Newark, DE.

Pat and Barry are great people and great agents. They do know their stuff. They will help you to get the best deal. When u go see a house with them they will show you whats wrong with the house so you won't get a bad house. Lots of agents out there will show u just great stuff about house and you will end up getting bad house. Anybody can see good stuff in the house. Pat and Barry are not like lots of agents out there they won't make you buy anything like lots of other agents do cuz they only interested in commissions. Pat and Barry are interested in happy customer. They helped us to get a great house in great area for a good price. Actually I think they are the best agents out there.

They were great. They got us our dream home. At a good price. Lower then I thought we could get. A new roof the seller didn't know he needed. They made the process easy and worry free.
