My mission is to provide top quality service and communication. I want my buyers and sellers to understand the buying and selling process as well as I do. I provide regular service reports to my clients so they can understand what is happening and what I am doing for them.
For buyers, I offer unparralleled service & I am willing to work days, nights, weekends. I enjoy MATCHING, not selling, real estate. I educate buyers on the market; they fine-tune me so we can find the right home for them.
Team: I work w/ my husband, Mike, who had 25 years of banking and investment experience before entering real estate. He is as customer-oriented as I am. We try to fit your schedule, not ours. Emily Ryan, also a licensed real estate agent, is the administrator and client care coordinator. She grew up in a small family business and knows the meaning of excellent service and product knowledge.
Real estate success? I sell a house every 4 days. What does that mean to you? If you are a buyer, I know how to get what you want. In any negotiation, it often must be a win-win to work. If it doesn't cost you to give the seller what (s)he wants and you get what you want, it's a win. If you are the seller, my experience helps you put your home on the market in the right condition at the right price for a quicker, higher sale. Knowing the market is my forte.
My background: Was award-winning consumer reporter for The Indpls News, the afternoon daily newspaper, then won awards as the editor of Indpls Magazine. I have served as president, long-time secretary, business chair and Home Tour chair of Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Assoc. During my tenure on the home tour, we instituted several innovative programs including the popular Twilight Tour. My jobs were to know the city - all sides -- extremely well so I could share it with readers.
Previous board memberships: Philharmonic Orchestra of Indpls, St. Vincent Guild. Prevent Blindness of Indiana, Indpls Urban League. Former precinct committeeman (20 yrs).
I became the executive editor at Que Corp, became a division of MacMillan. My job was to negotiate w/ authors and foreign publishers and, to get the best authors without the salary, i learned how to make contracts work for both mgmt & authors.
real Estate: In rehabbing properties for resale, I learned what it costs and the effort it takes. Because of the rehab experience, I can help buyers/sellers understand what it may cost to put home in marketable shape.
I believe in real estate. I own rentals. Do you want to invest? I have that experience first-hand and can help newbies understand the realm of real estate investing. This is a great time to invest! $$ is cheap, properties affordable, and renters available. Let your $$ work for you!
Other life: Attended Manchester College, graduate of Indiana U. My first job was at Peoria Journal Star. I have been to Cuba & Honduras, helping fit donated eyeglasses for the disadvantaged. I have biked (50 mi/day) in Provence, The Netherlands and Tuscany. I have biked 185-mi C&O towpath and 72 miles on the Eerie Canal (in one day!).
