I was surprised as to how a man who has about 24 years of experience as a real estate agent could be so condescending and rude to a potential buyer simply calling to ask for a little bit more information on the property. I only gave him two stars for the "local knowledge" section because he was able to tell me where the house was located: "Have you looked on Google maps? It's adjacent to the freeway." As in, why would anyone want to buy this. As a listing agent, he told me that I should look for someone else to represent me because he incorrectly assumed that I was calling (just like everyone else he mentioned) to see if he can give me a better deal and how "pathetic" that was. Then he hung up on me before I can nicely correct him. <br/><br/>I truly think that he wants to purchase the La Canada property on 801 Craig Ave. for himself, so his strategy is to be rude to potential buyers and hope they turn away. I would truly think twice before ever working with Pete Whan.

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $475K in Altadena, CA.

Pete guided us through our first time home buying process. We were so lucky to have his experience and expertise, especially with an unusual purchasing process where the owner passed away during escrow. We were fortunate to get in our home as quickly as we did because of Pete's negotiation and expertise. Pete was available, responsive, and understood our needs. Bought a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $550K in Altadena, CA.

We met Pete early in our search process when we saw a house he was showing. Pete is very personable and we found him very knowledgeable about the area. Based on our conversations with him that day we started working with him as our realtor. We were searching for a great house with lots of character at a very specific price point. Adding another level of complexity to our search was the fact that the housing market had been in turmoil. It was three years before we finally found our new home, and Pete was patient, persistent and helpful throughout the process. We found his knowledge of the market, home values and issues such as repair costs critical in deciding which properties merited our serious interest. We had some disappointing close calls, but in the end we ended up with a house that we not only felt was in great shape and a great value, but matched up perfectly with our wish list! Basically, we found THE perfect house for us. Pete's expertise made the closing process smooth, and because he is a long-time local to the area, he has been a great source for recommendations to tradesmen and services we've used in putting the finishing touches on the home. If you are looking to buy or sell a home in the area, definitely call Pete.  More Less
