I have claimed my house I live in, but we are also building another house and when I type in that address, it gives me a house about 1/2 mile north of where it is at. Also the pic is of just dirt, - no streets - I do know the images are a couple years behind due to security, etc.How can I claim the 2nd one - especially if it doesn't yet show streets? How can I get it corrected to show our home and not someone elses?
I have mixed emotions on open houses. I am selling the house by owner. I just paid owners.com to do MLS, which is now active. We do have a lot of traffic through our neighborhood for people looking for homes for sale. So, I am thinking of doing an open house Saturday June 19 from 11-4pm. I heard that ReMax has that day for big open houses all over from 1-4pm, so I am hoping that I can capitalize on the crowds they would draw as well. I am borrowing "open house" directional signs from a real estate agent to use. So, does this sound like a good idea? or just an opportunity to get a lot of "lookers" to dirty the house up!?! What are ideal refreshments to have? I heard cookies, but that will make a lot of crumbs and mess? help!!
These are great ideas, thank you. The house is pretty much empty. We still have a few things in the shed, but will have everything of value out during the Open House. I will try and get to open houses today to see what they are doing - that is a very good suggestion. I have a little bit of a hard time, as I have fractured my foot and have it in a boot and on crutches. I can hobble about without them. Thanks for the suggestion about having someone with me. I will solicit some friends - kinda hard if it is a gorgeous Saturday. Also, try and get my husband to be with me too - I am sure he will do it for a few hours, but not the duration, so I will fill the other spots. I have some neighbors I can ask to come in during the time, to fill the gaps too. - they want to see what is going on as well!. So, I think I will take a stereo over there - play on the "cool" station - music that is generally appealing to all. Get waters on ice in a big bucket and find some cookies that are crub free - maybe the rice krispies treats - those stick together pretty well.THANKS!
I am very happy with Zillow. It gives great views of my home that other sites cannot give. Yes, the zestimates seem to be low for our area, but like another said, it is a fact people seem to know that use it. Many of my showings have come due to having it on zillow. I leverage any site I can. Zillow, Craigslist and bought the service to have MLS listing, which put me on realtor.com and will be availalbe on a few search engines. Hope you do well!
1.) We have 2 homes right now, so I went to claim my newer home (finished Jan 2008) and I could see it on the arial view, but when I put in address and claimed it - it actually took me to the land that is next door and now has a house on it. I cannot get it to the right property. 2.) When will the maps be updated? There is quite a bit of new homes there and not yet reflected. please advise!
I have my home listed by owner and paid for MLS listing. I have had some showings and so I am not motivated to change to a Listing agent. I have sold many houses over the years and I have very high expectations of a listing agent and so I decided to do it myself instead of hiring one. I get more calls from agents wanting to list my house and they don't even know my neighborhood. I have one guy who is telling me his marketing techniques are fresh and will move it. He calls people who have been looking for houses. Now, I am not sure how he knows this, but he says he spents 3 hrs a day doing this. I have to hand it to this guy - he is aggressive - at least with me trying to list my house. But I don't think I would want someone calling my house telling me they "have the new home for me". Does this technique work? What is working today? I am already doing Zillow, Craigslist, MLS, Broker site, and have used the local paper (waste of time that I could tell) and had 1 open house (dud).
Thanks for your reponse. I am on realtor.com since I bought the MLS through www.owners.com and was connected with Broker Direct. I have also had 3 real estate agents who work in my neighborhood come by and preview and independently tell me that I am priced VERY well. Since I don't have a listing agent, I was able to price it nicely - as I am not paying out that 16k+ for that part. I have spent approx 1k so far on all of my efforts. Nice color brochures with lots of pictures, additional feature sheet, etc, the advertising, I hired someone to help me really get the yard cleaned up, nice curb appeal, etc. What other suggestions??
Yes, I am offering 2.8% to the agent bringing the buyer. The house is vacant, and I am 4 miles away, so it has been easy to open up the house before someone comes over. I like to have all the lights on, and I put out a cold water next to the sign in sheet and have other cold waters in the fridge. I have little signs placed around the house explaining the upgrades or features. I have had it on the market 4 wks now and have had several realtor showings. I always call them for feedback and get good responses. "Love house, but yard is too small". We back to hundreds of acres of open space, the mountains and view of a lake.... so, all the houses on that open space do have smaller yards, but it comes down to what you prefer. Several homes have sold in the neighborhood recently, so I am hopeful that with the lower inventory, something will happen. I have some agents who have previewed the property and have clients coming into town over next couple of weeks. I am just looking for any other things I should be doing. The grass is nice and green, well groomed, flowers in bloom. Just need the right buyer to come by.
