My real estate career began in 1977 as it became abundantly clear that home values in Seattle were rising faster than the prices of the retail music recordings that my wife and I were selling at the time. We were also expecting another child and were lucky enough to have bought our first home in Ballard in 1974 and were ready to trade up for more space. By the end of 1979 I had obtained my brokers license and was on the path to a rewarding career representing buyers and sellers before anyone had heard of the internet.

We purchased our current home in 1978 in the Sunset Hill area of Ballard and began raising our family of 2 sons and 2 daughters. We have fond memories of the old Ballard where parking was free and the condos were almost non existent. Living in a 1912 era home gave our family an appreciation of restoration and preservation.

While attending local schools, and after graduation from college all of our children worked in Real Estate for a period of time. Today both of my daughters are actively involved in sales and property management. Emily and her husband Ivan Agerton here in Seattle work for Windermere R.E., while my youngest daughter Vanessa and her husband do commercial property management in Portland, Ore.

My access to skilled techical expertise is also a family affair with my son's providing computer technology and High definition video production when needed. Keith is a manager with Micro soft and Tim has been nominated for an emmy and has won numerous film competitions including a visit to the Cannes film festival for his production skills.


We are expecting our 5th grandchild in the spring of 2010 and continue to enjoy our investment in the Inn at Manzanita along with partners and other commercial investments in Vancouver Washington and Oregon. My wife and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this spring. Life is good and I plan to continue to work with my past clients and their friends and look forward to meeting new faces and helping them achieve their real estate goals in the coming years.
