Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $350K in Ridgefield, WA.
Mark asked me if I would write a testimony here on Zillow once our family got settled into our new home,,,, With Pleasure! Mark listed our home the first week of March for about $20,000.00 more than the price we were expecting to ask. Only to have an offer come in 8 days later for $5,000.00 less than we had it on the market for. We were so excited, after Mark checked with the buyer’s lender to make sure they had enough money for a down payment and were able to obtain financing to buy our home we signed the contract right away. Our house closed 27 days later after we fixed a couple repairs the new owners requested from their home inspection. Mark was callings us every couple days with updates on the buyers progress. I can’t say how much that kept our mind at easy during the sale. We didn’t have a real estate agent when we decided to sell our home but found Mark here on Zillow when looking for our new home. We read some of his past clients comments and thought if he was half as good as what they wrote we should be OK with him. He wasn’t even close to half as good as we were hoping for, he was twice as good as what we read about him. I usually don’t ask for cards to give to friends and family but I ask Mark for a handful because he earned my business and future referrals from us….

Because of the failing health of my mother I found myself needing to sell her house. Since my brother is a Realtor in Florida, he offered to help me find a reputable Realtor here in the Vancouver region. After some research he suggested that I go with Mark. I have to say that I'm really happy that we chose him. The day we signed with him he emailed a 40 point game plan of exactly what he was going to do to get the house sold. And then he went to work. We had an interested party in less than 24 hours. Mark not only invested a lot of time with us helping us get the house ready to show, he also spent a lot of time showing the house to other Realtors and prospective buyers. If I had to do it all over again I would choose Mark, and I'll recommend him to my friends. Mark was prompt, always did what he said he would do, and always got back to me in a very short time when I had a question.

If you’re looking for a real estate agent that is a leader, then call Mark his sets the standard in his industry. From the moment we met him at the door in his suit until we walked out the door at the escrow office after signing closing papers Mark’s knowledge, advise and professionalism was outstanding. Mark not only has the best marketing plan (In writing) on a day to day schedule of how and what to expect. He use’s postcards, virtual tours, colored flyers, you tube, google, yahoo and all the major media platforms to expose your home to buyers. Let me just say after moving 9 times with my company Mark is at least twice as good as any other realtor we have used in the last 18 years. Not to mention he sold our home in 22 days. Wow! How easy was this!? After a little bit of research online for an agent we chose Mark. His professionalism and personality is really what sold us. He kept us in "the loop" constantly with emails, phone messages and texts. If we had questions he always had the answers...and right away, no hanging out there. His marketing plan was very impressive, he absolutely knows the area and the market. We got our asking price on the 5th day, which totally shocked us! From day of listing until the day we closed.....39 days!! How awesome is that? Would we recommend Mark? Absolutely!! We're planning to move to Arizona in the fall....sure wish he could do business there too!!

We feel so lucky to have had Mark as are “buyers agent”. We were referred Mark by a friend that used Mark to sell their home a couple years ago. He started out by meeting us in the office and going thru he’s news letter to update us on the current market conditions. Then he when through the process of making an offer and what a purchase and sales agree to make an offer. We then looked at an area map of Clark County and picked the regions we wanted to live in. He plugged in the rest of our home wants and needs and printed out a complete detailed list of homes. We would do drive by and other research first and call Mark on just the homes we were interested in seeing. After several homes we made an offer (with 2 other offers from buyers) and we did end up getting the home. Mark never pressured us into making an offer but when we did he moved fast and was like a shark getting our offer to get accepted by the seller. Thanks Mark because of your hard work we will definitely tell everyone about your awesome service.

Way to go Mark we did it! We listed our home with Mark in beginning of February and I am writing this in our new home less than 60 days later. It’s not just the fact we got everything done so fast is how easy things went. Mark’s marketing plan/Calendar tells a homeowner what and when things are going to be done and he was right on schedule like clockwork. As a task was completed Mark would usually email me the update. Last but not least, we sold our home for $2,000 less than we were asking.....WOW that was great. Have a great year Mark and stop by and see us when you’re in the neighborhood your always welcome!

Mark is the best agent possible when buying a home. He met us at the office and took almost an hour explaining the market, short sales, how to make an offer and so much more. He then entered us into his system and when the homes came up that matched our criteria we went through EVERY home pictures and data. We looked at over 25 homes I swear until we finally made an offer. The closing went so smooth, the whole process was painless. If you’re looking for a experienced Realtor that takes his time and cares about you Mark’s your guy! Thanks Mark we appreciate all you have done for us and that awesome planter box you made for us as a move in present.

We connected, but it did not work out. Looking in Lake Shore, WA 98685
Called to see about a house in the Vancouver market that I had inquired about through Zillow. He called once, left a message and two days later, I called him back. The phone call has to be one of the strangest conversations I have had with a realtor.

He wanted me to come on Saturday, but I mentioned I had another house I was going to see. When he asked where, I said it was in Oregon. He said he doesn't work with people in Oregon. I understand that if he doesn't have a license to conduct business there; but, I thought his response was odd. I said we are looking for a house in either the Vancouver or the Portland market. He seemed abrupt with that and when I asked him why should it matter where I am looking, his reply was "it matters to me." As if he didn't have time to bother with a potential client who is looking into both markets.

At the very least, he could have offered to still show me the home and some others in the Vancouver area; but, he was rude and hung up.

I am sure that he is better than this with the overall star ratings he has, but I found Mark's attitude toward me in this conversation as unprofessional and self-centered.

Terrible connection, poor business etiquette, and very rude.

Mr. Foster, If I came across rude and or hurt your feelings I am sorry and I apologize. You are totally right, I called you right away after I received your request from Zillow on Monday to view a home here in West Vancouver. You emailed me back 2 days later on a Wednesday and asked for a Saturday or Sunday showing to meet your schedule. I email you back right away and set up a Saturday 10am appointment. You then called me on the phone 2 days after I replied to your email on a Friday afternoon and asked if I could show you on Sunday instead of Saturday because you were looking at another home in Oregon with a different agent. I simply tried to explain to you that I had already scheduled clients on Sunday, that I wasn’t available. I hope you find another agent that meets your needs and you and your families have many joyous years in your new home!

My wife and I found Mark's name on the internet when we started thinking seriously of moving from Boston to the Portland area. We had never bought a house before and were not exactly sure how to go about it. We are so grateful to have found him more or less by chance because I can't imagine any realtor being more attentive to our needs or more thorough and helpful than he was for several months before we actually bought. Mark called us regularly with updates about potential homes that matched what we were looking for and sent us listings via the internet. When I finally flew out to meet Mark and look at houses he met my flight at the airport and drove me all over town showing me the houses I was interested in. At one point I impulsively decided upon a house which was not really adequate for our family's needs (too small, no garage, not the best schools, etc.) and although it would have meant a quick sale for him he encouraged me to look around more until I found the house that we now live in which we love and which is larger, has a garage, and has the best schools in the district. My point is that he cared enough about helping me find a house that would be best for my family that he discouraged me from making a rash and impractical decision, even though he risked losing whatever commision he could have quickly made. Instead, he spent a full week taking me around the city every day until I found the perfect house for my family (which, by the way, turned out to be cheaper than the house I almost bought.) He also helped us negotiate a better price for the house. In addition, about a week before we moved in, Mark went to the house and moved out the old furniture that had been left by the previous owners as a favor to us and spent the day cleaning the house better and doing minor repairs, He also, as a favor and without being paid for his efforts, met the plummer and pest control people at the house to let them in. In short, Mark was the very best agent I could have found to help me find a house far from home and I recommend him highly and without hesitation to anyone else looking to buy or sell a home. A thorough professional as well as a caring and generous man. I do not usually take the time to review like this, but it is the least I can do knowing that my review will perhaps help other families have a great experience finding a new home as I did. Thank you, Mark!!

Mark represented me during the purchase of a complicated short sale home. He was very professional, responsive to my many inquiries, honest about the complexities and risks of a short sale, and worked well with the listing agent to look after my interests. From the moment I asked Mark to help me find a home, through closing, I knew he was doing everything he could to make sure I ended up with a home that matched my needs. He encouraged me to make sure I was happy with the home I wanted to buy and discouraged me from purchasing one that was not what I was looking for. I could not be more pleased with the service I received from Mark Krant, especially as a single woman. Although I am very happy with my home purchase, I would trust him to act as my agent again, either for listing or another purchase.
