Wondering how much is the Commission when buying or selling a home in San Diego County? Commissions to agents are negotiated and "pre-determined" by the seller's contract in the MLS before you even come along and are shown the property. That is one reason why agents may say that the seller, not the buyer, pays the commissions. Buyers commissions are often 2-4% of the property price.

Sellers list property at an agreed negotiated commission and 6% is a recognized standard amount with 3% going to brokerage of the buyer's agent as well as 3% to the seller's agent's brokerage. 
For example, If a buyer does not have their own buyer's agent and they buy directly from a seller's agent, the seller's agent/brokerage may get to keep all 6% commission. This is one reason buyers get their own agent instead of using the seller's agent as the commission is already contracted in the Multiple Listing Service.  Buyers decide this may be in their best interest to have their own hand picked service provider instead of just using the seller's agent since they are not comfortable with the dual agency thing and wonder who the seller's agent is really working for: them, or the seller!

  Your buyer's agent can request the seller to pay closing costs. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. The list of no commission available property in San Diego County appears small as they are often For Sale By Owner homes.

This agent is really good She does what she says she will do and holds the bologna! I usually can't stand sales people but, we need an agent to help us. We are so glad we found her and can't wait to get in escrow!

Sold a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $425K in Santee, CA.
Rhonda is very helpful,incredibly knowledgeable and super efficient. We've looked at over 20 houses in just two weekends!
