Prepping your home for Sale
With the large inventory of homes for sale in the WIlkes-Barre/Scranton Area, buyers are able to properly.scrutinize. Most buyers WILL NOT look past clutter to the bare bones of a ggood home. Staging your home for an open house or potential buyer walk through, dosent have to be expense if you know the tricks of the trade :Decks should at least be power washed.Clean your gutters. Saplings are not supposed to grow there.Wash windows and repair screens.Make sure exterior light fixtures are clean and that they operate properly.Get rid of dead leaves and stray limbs from your yard.Re-sod bare patches in your lawn, and green it up with fertilizerTrim trees and bushes and replace mulch that has faded. If you have outdoor plant containers, freshen them up with new plants.Don't forget your side yards and back yard. Sure, you could include a "carpet allowance" in the negotiations, but having nice looking, clean carpet already in place is better.Repaint rooms that need it and use neutral colors.Ensure that all handrails are sturdy and that stairways are well-lit. Replace all  light bulbs throughout the house. Have the chimney swept and have the fireplace inspected.Fix leaks in kitchen and bathroom sinks, bathtubs, and toilets. Tighten any loose fixtures.Check all electrical outlets to ensure they work.Replace furnace filters.  De-clutter every room. This may require you to rent storage spaceTrinkets  should be stored, but if you can't bear to store them, at least be sure they are clean and dusted.Remove out-of-season clothing from closets and store it elsewhere.Closet organizers are almost universally appealing to buyers.
