My wife and I worked with Robert when we needed to find a new home to accommodate our growing family. He helped us thoroughly prepare our home for sale and we were able to sell it for asking in a matter of days - no need for an open house. The circumstances surrounding our purchase were much more challenging. We found ourselves in a tricky situation that no one but Robert could have guided us through. Sold a Single Family home in 2014 in North Caldwell, NJ.

We enjoyed working with Robert and were glad that chose him despite the fact that he did not specialize in specific geographic area where he normally works.

Despite the slow down in the market toward the end of summer, Robert and his team continued to hold open houses and offer creative ways to add appeal to our home.

We also very much appreciated that Robert negotiated on our behalf instead of simply acting as a middleman with other agents/buyers.

I had a great experience with Robert Northfield and his team. We had an offer within days of putting the house on the market-- we didn't even get a chance to have an open house. We got an offer for significantly over our asking price-- but after a very weird home inspector came and pointed out tons of stuff wrong with the house (none of which was actually a problem) I felt like the deal started getting out of control on the buyers side and they were constantly teetering on the bring of letting the deal fall through. At the last minute my husband and I agreed (without too much advice from our side) to simply lower the price in order to keep the deal alive. I am not saying that there is much Northfield's team could have done when the buyer is shakey, but at some points I felt like I was doing a lot of the negotiations myself-- but that probably had to do with the fact that I am a control freak AND we could not afford the time of letting the deal fall through and finding a new buyer. At the end of the day, we settled on our list price after concessions-- which at the end of the day was still awesome. Jill Sockwell, on Roberts team, was ESPECIALLY helpful as she was the person I worked with most frequently. She was knowledgeable, personable and fun. She would come over the house to explain things if needed and be present at inspections when we wanted representation. I would definitely recommend them...I was very lucky that I chose them-- I felt like they were the main reason it took 3 days to get a contract on our house and close within... 60 days of getting that first offer.  More Less
