And when several other homes in the neighborhood came on the market within days of ours, he was undeterred and in fact encouraging. In the end, because of a couple unique characteristics, it was over six months before the right buyer came along. I had a great experience with Robert Northfield and his team. We had an offer within days of putting the house on the market-- we didn't even get a chance to have an open house. We got an offer for significantly over our asking price-- but after a very weird home inspector came and pointed out tons of stuff wrong with the house (none of which was actually a problem) I felt like the deal started getting out of control on the buyers side and they were constantly teetering on the bring of letting the deal fall through. At the last minute my husband and I agreed (without too much advice from our side) to simply lower the price in order to keep the deal alive. I am not saying that there is much Northfield's team could have done when the buyer is shakey, but at some points I felt like I was doing a lot of the negotiations myself-- but that probably had to do with the fact that I am a control freak AND we could not afford the time of letting the deal fall through and finding a new buyer. At the end of the day, we settled on our list price after concessions-- which at the end of the day was still awesome. Jill Sockwell, on Roberts team, was ESPECIALLY helpful as she was the person I worked with most frequently. She was knowledgeable, personable and fun. She would come over the house to explain things if needed and be present at inspections when we wanted representation. I would definitely recommend them...I was very lucky that I chose them-- I felt like they were the main reason it took 3 days to get a contract on our house and close within... 60 days of getting that first offer.
