Mrs. Rockinblu and I sold our house of 34 years as a FSBO in March of 2008. We moved from Glen Carbon, IL to Austin where our two sons have been living with their families for over 10 years. We finally succumbed to their pressure and all Austin has to offer in the way of being the Live Music Capital of the World. We have downsized from a 3100sf house to a 1150 2/2 apartment in the SoCo area of Austin. We are thrilled to death with our new lives. All that being said, we still do miss the local musicians in St. Louis. Shown in my avatar are two of my all time favorites. Marcel Strong in the white hat and Bennie Smith seated. John Wolf is also shown on trombone. The photo was taken at a fund raiser for Bennie at BB's Jazz, Blues, and Soups in St. Louis. Unfortunately, Bennie passed away a short time afterward.
