I emailed this person a question about a listing and it took a month to get a response. When she did respond she didn't have any more information than was on zillow already. I asked about the size of the rooms. I was told the house in question was an estate. Do realtors not show estate homes? We are relocating from across the country. Apparently she wasn't interested in helping.

Bought a Mobile / Manufactured home in 2013 in Brookings, OR.

Originally from CA, I moved to Portland, OR in 1999. On a trip from one end of Oregon's coast to the other, we stopped in Brooking's. We fell in love with the city and its people. Small town with HUGE beautiful surroundings !!!! The MOST to offer from Seattle to SFO. I met a few agents (6) during our extended stay. One stood out above the rest and that was Ruth. So, in 2013, when I decided, after doing another trip of the coast from Half Moon Bay to Long Beach, WA, that Brooking"s was to be my new home, I enlisted Ruth Wilson as agent. She can/did balance the Buyer/Seller negotiations BETTER and any agent I have ever used. This was my # 12 home purchase. First, she listened - wow, what a pleasure and then she came up with 8 homes for me to view. We viewed them all and each could have been home. She did a fantastic job identifying MY interests. When I said "This is the one" she just smiled and said "I thought so" as it fit all my hopes and dreams. I laughed because the owner even had my favorite pasta sauce in his kitchen cab!! Ruth is a very, very nice person too. She is very honest, fast and easy to work with. She lets you walk through and does not push at all. I was a licensed agent in Michigan and California and I could not have asked for anyone better.

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $175K in Brookings, OR.

We went with Ruth for our first home-buying experience. We were moving from out of state and thus were brand new to the area. So, yes to us, Ruth seemed to know the area well. But that also meant that in this small town she was well acquainted with the homes' sellers which meant her best interest were for them, not us. Ruth worked both sides on the buy/sell and that translated to ZERO negotiations, she wanted us to give her friends, the sellers, everything they asked for. Even when the home did not appraise for what they wanted she requested that we pay the sellers the extra 3,000 dollars out of our own pockets!! Saying that "It would be a nice Christmas gift for them" Ha!! They are retired, this was ONE of their rental properties while we have two small children and had to deal with a rushed/last minute relocation. When we told her that there was no way we had that kind of money (we even had to borrow our down payment) she suggested we make them payments... Wow. There was no way we were going to supplement the sellers asking price. I found that incredibly unprofessional and was stunned that she even asked.

Once the sell went through and Ruth was assured that we were not in fact sending the sellers any money from our own pockets, she was annoyed or angry or whatever but she didn't say congratulations. She MAILED us our extra key and ripped the For Sale sign out of our front yard with out saying a word. Unprofessional.

I will say this, as stated above, we had a very rushed relocation situation and Ruth was very responsive and quick with the paperwork. That was it.

My advice is to use Ruth Wilson if you already know her because she will do EVERYTHING to get you what you want but if you are new to the area, go with someone a little less biased and objective.

Ruth was very professional and knowledgeable of the area. She also made the process of looking for and buying our new home fun. Her very competent assistant, Marla kept everything running on schedule. Overall we realy enjoyed working with Ruth and her team.
