Last summer, I suggested to my daughter that she purchase a condo near her work in Long Beach. After some research, I found the Scott Kato Group on Yelp in Oct 2014. When making our first appointment, Nikoo Safdari (receptionist) answered all our questions about the company and was very efficient in returning my calls. She asked if we wanted a male or female agent. I replied that I wanted someone who would tell it to me like it is. Thus, our first appointment with Ray Miramontes was made.

Ray is a young man however he is wise beyond his years. He takes his profession very seriously. It’s no wonder why he is so good at it. He’s very confident and has a mild-mannered yet very congenial personality. (My daughter is 25 and I am 52 and we both liked and felt very comfortable with Ray from day one.) He has a vast knowledge about anything having to do with the realty industry and also about the city of Long Beach itself. He kept in contact with us almost every day. Whether it be to tell us about a new listing, to give us an update or to just to ask how the day was going. He was never bothersome. We actually enjoyed and looked forward to Ray’s communication via texts and calls. During the entire time we were associated with Ray, he honestly made us feel like we were his only clients and I liked that. (In fact, during the final inspection, he inadvertently mentioned that he had just recently sold 3 other properties. To this day, I still find it hard to believe that he had other clients because he paid such close attention to us and gave us his everything.)

The very first property that I asked Ray to show us was not in the best of neighborhoods. As we walked up to the front gate Ray said to my daughter, “Kinda sketch. I'll find you a nicer area." I knew we were in responsible and honest hands.

He accommodated my daughter’s unusual work schedule. When there was a property that fit the bill, he’d text my daughter to wake up (usually late afternoon), that he’d pick her up in 3o minutes and bring her back home in 15 minutes. It worked out perfectly!

Four days before the 17 day contingency was to end, a new property was listed that my daughter fell in love with. She was so embarrassed to call Ray about this so she sent him the longest text you’ve ever seen. Ray’s simple reply to her was, “Get a good night’s rest and let’s talk in the morning.” His reply truly calmed her down and let her know that he was not mad or upset at her. The next day, he told my daughter that she should not be embarrassed. He firmly stated that he had no problem backing out of the first sale as that is his job as our agent and not to worry about the seller or her agent. He also said the 4 days is not a lot of time to work with but it could be done if need be. (Ray informs you about the facts then supports his client’s decisions but is never demanding or forceful. He likes to give you the worst case scenarios but concludes with “but it will never happen.”) He then insisted that my daughter visit the new listing in the next few hours just so she has no regrets and that he’d do all he could from that point on. (Another buyer offered a price which was our maximum thus it was not meant to be.) But it made us realize even more how fortunate we were to have Ray as our agent.

During the escrow process Ray kept us informed daily. When the lender needed something from us, I just sent it to Ray and he quickly and efficiently took care of it.

We were hesitant to go through the whole buying process but our 7 week relationship with Ray turned out to be a very pleasant experience. In fact, we made a new friend. You can do no wrong with Ray Miramontes as your realtor.

Sold a home in 2014.

We recently closed two transactions thanks to the excellent service from the Kato Group. The team is best in class and is everything we could ever want in an agent - extremely knowledgeable about market conditions, experts on both sides of the buy/sell process, tough negotiators, incredibly responsive, and genuinely nice people who treated us like family. Jessica Panzica and Sarah Bogy led the charge and were constantly on top of the buyer’s agent and vendors, and much to our delight, got them to close escrow 4 days earlier than expected! What an incredible outcome! And we can’t forget Scott Kato who convinced us that staging is worth the investment. We were 25 days on market with no offer but after staging received an offer within a week. We should have listened to you from the start! Excellent job team!
