I'm a first-time home buyer and I initially made contact with Selena while I was shopping around for homes a few months ahead of when I planned on actually making a home purchase. I had been in touch with a few other realtors, but I decided to work with Selena because she was extremely responsive to all of my inquiries, and was able to guide me through the home selection and buying process with very few bumps on the way. She is also a shrewd negotiator and gave me a lot of tips when I was ready to buy.
I made my first offer on a short-sale home on October 10, 2014. I was immediately out-bid and had to walk away from that one. The second house I made an offer on October 16, 2014, and I thought for sure would be the "one" ended up having foundation issues - so I decided to walk away from that house as well. Third time's a charm however- I made an offer on my now new home on October 28, 2014. The house inspection came and went and the house had no serious issues. We closed on the house on December 4, 2014.
One thing that became immediately clear to me about Selena during this process is that she will work as hard as you will to find the right home to suit your needs. We must have visited at least fifteen to twenty homes total. As we got deeper into the process and I started making offers and then home inspections, many of the people we came into contact with, such as the other realtors representing the various sellers, already had a working relationship with Selena and spoke highly of her work.
The last thing I will add here is that Selena always found time to fit me in to her schedule and checked in via emails often. This was very helpful for me as a first-time buyer because I was clueless about the process when I started looking at houses. Although you will have your own unique and quirky home-buying experiences, having someone capable of guiding you through the process is essential to having a happy, speedy, and successful closing.
