I purchased a home recently, with the team of Sharon Keeny and Anne Douglas as my buyer's agent.
Sharon was available at the drop of a hat to show me houses I wanted to see as they came on the market. She pointed out features of the houses and issues that they might have. In particular, Sharon knew to look for a buried oil tank and got in writing that the sellers had abandoned it appropriately. She was knowledgeable about the values of homes in this area, and let me know her opinion when houses were priced too high and also when a house was appropriately priced. The selling prices of these homes later (or that they have not yet sold) indicated that she was correct.
There were many items Sharon and Anne handled, such as scheduling and attending inspections (and asking questions I didn't know to ask), picking up inspection reports and handling the radon remediation. These were all especially important since we were on a short timeline (34 days from writing the offer to settlement!). Not only were we on a short timeline, it was also very close to the holidays, which allowed my daughter who is away at college to be home to participate in the move.
In response to the inspection reports, Sharon discussed with me the benefits of alternatives such as requesting items to be fixed or requesting credit to be applied at settlement.
I am looking forward to working with Sharon and Anne in the Spring when I list the other house for sale!
