ShoreViews, LLC was founded January 1, 2009 by Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh, whose entrepreneurial spirit, marketing and real estate expertise spans over 25 years. As owner of Hopkins Advertising and Public Relations, Inc., an award winning, full service ad agency, Lori developed strategic marketing plans and creative for such renown clients as the Pontiac Division of General Motors, Pfizer, Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, Lyme Rock Park Raceway, the Hartford Whalers, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, among others. Lori semi-retired her advertising agency in 1998 to focus on her love for real estate, investing in commercial and residential properties and land development. During this time she was able to dedicate her free time to serve on the board of directors of such non-profit organizations as the Children's Center of Southeastern Connecticut, the Custom House Maritime Museum and the New London Historical Society. She was founding board-member and vice president of New London's Main Street organization. In 2004, Lori became a career Realtor®, utilizing her advertising strengths to aggressively market her client's properties. She quickly achieved Master's Club recognition, outselling 95% of all agents in her real estate board. Now, as owner and broker of ShoreViews™, Lori promises to develop a cutting edge, technologically advanced, environmentally conscious real estate company, with the client's complete satisfaction as her top priority. Lori is home from work certified and serves on the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors®, the Grievance Committee, and Forms Committee.

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $225K in New London, CT.

Lori was wonderful during the process of selling our home. We sold our home long distance and relied on Lori's expertise to handle everything for us. She kept us informed, assisted us whenever possible above and beyond her normal hours and really made the process as simplistic as possible. Found a tenant for a Single Family home in Waterford, CT.

Lori and her staff were very professional and easy to work with. They listed and rented our beach home in two days and our tenant is all we had hoped for. We are thankful for their help and will be using Shoreviews LLC in the future.

Showed home in 2012 in Central Waterford, Waterford, CT 06385.

Lori is a very knowledgeable about the area we were looking which should have been an asset to me, but her attitude and arroragance made it impossible for me & my wife to do business with her. When it became apparant that we could not work together she refused to let us out of the contract we signed with her. Lesson learned, NEVER SIGN A CONTRACT WHEN LOOKING FOR A HOUSE! I have bought 3 properties & sold one, so I am familiar with cheap sales tactics some agents use. Every property we looked at was the BEST according to Lori & we should put in a full price offer immediately before someone else does. She even told me that one property we looked at that she & her husband might put an offer in! Very condescending too! Do yourself a favor and shop around for a agent who seems concerned with you rather than seeing a $ sign.  More Less

Thank you for the opportunity to address your satisfaction and for acknowledging my expertise and knowledge of the Waterford real estate market. It is not in any buyer’s best interest not to sign required contracts, and places agents in a position not to be able to assist the buyer in any legal or professional manner. A Right to Represent contract is required in CT to show homes, otherwise an Unrepresented Buyer Agreement is required by law. As long as both parties behave in a rational, courteous and competent manner, there are few issues. I use hard facts in my broker price opinions. If a buyer offers hundreds of thousands less than a home is worth that buyer can expect a rejected offer. When the property sells to a different buyer for hundreds of thousands more, it is because that buyer understood the value of the property. I offered to refer this client to the agent of his choice and release him from his contract, but he declined.
