I'm doing a little research for a blog post and would love your input! Please specify if you were in a home buying or selling situation or if you're another real estate professional. Thanks.
Woo hoo! Sounds like you got a great deal--instant equity is a good position to be in. Enjoy it! Try not to compare what an online estimate--or in this case, zestimate--says about your property. These Web sites gather their information from public records and use broad algorithms to arrive at their figures. They cannot replace the human factor to accurately compare your home with similar recent sales.Steve ReesePrudential Carolyn Harris RealtyShawnee, OK
I can relate to your frustration! Several weeks ago I sold a house across the street from you and had the same issue with any site that used Bing for their maps. Google Maps has it correct (provided you add "Ave" to the address). What I would do is go to your property page on Zillow and click the "edit" button below the Description in the window and e-mail Zillow about the incorrect mapping coordinates for your house. If that doesn't work, don't be discouraged. There are a number of places to gather quality information, and it's the whole picture we have to look at. Good luck to you!
