I tend to be more of a do it yourself type (I like to create my own lists for homes to see, run my own analyses, etc.) My initial inclination was to just pick the cheapest realtor to get through the process, but decided against this given the size of the investment and reading a few horror stories. Working with Russ was definitely a pleasure and I could not have been happier with my choice. 1) He was super responsive. I'd text him on the weekends, in the evenings, throughout the day and there was always a prompt response. 2) Negotiation skills. In a difficult market for buyers, Russ was able to convince the seller to give us a discount for repairs. I did not even think this would be within the realm of possibility in the Bay Area 3) Read on the market. Russ' read on the market was often times correct. 4) Process management. We had a a lot of issues emerge throughout the process due to my wife's financial position and investments. Russ was able to buy us the necessary time and offer up solutions to resolve these challenges. 5) Contacts. Russ has some amazing contacts that are just as responsive and do great work. My brother got contacts for Russ to expand his home. In the end we ended up with a beautiful home. The process was stressful, but Russ made it much more palatable than it otherwise would have been. When it comes time for us to sell our home and move to another, there is no question that I will be picking up the phone to call Russ.
