Squaw Valley is a large rural community area about 30 miles east of Fresno and serves as the gateway into Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Parks, We encompass about 250 square miles with elevations ranging from 1200 feet to 3,500 feet. About 17,000 acres of land were subdivided into about 3,500 5 acre lots in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Homes have been built on about 40% of these. The balance are partially improved or undeveloped. The properties are zoned agricultural and allow for a wide variety of farming, ranching, and related uses. Animals of all varieties are permitted...even have a few buffalo, emus, and llamas. Wild life is abundant. We are above the fog line (so winters are mild) and below the permanent snowline (but do get occasional light snow). This is a great area for anyone seeking a rural lifestyle...where the pace is slower and your neighbor actually waves.
