Stephen Dirrane entered the real estate industry in 2004 after working as a designer and builder for 20 years. After beginning at the University of Southern California's Department of Engineering he transferred to the University of California Los Angeles where he remained through Graduate school. After being granted a Technical Associate Teaching position Stephen assisted the legendary Robert Israel in UCLA's design program while achieving his Masters of Fine Arts. Later he was part of a talented production design team that won an Emmy and Cable Ace Award, and, while Technical and Artistic Director of the Celtic Arts Center (LA) won numerous Los Angeles Dramalogue awards. After creating various film, television and print media campaigns for clients like Propaganda Films and Disney, Stephen returned to his native Boston where he began studying and applying his skills towards residential design and mechanical systems.

Stephen still maintains an interest in exploring and building good design and developing Green Technologies. This is helpful to clients when they need dependable local craftspeople for their housing and sustainability needs or just want to understand it better. Though consistently one of the top Gibson Sotheby's Buyer's Agents in Boston's MetroWest suburbs, Stephen also lists quality homes throughout the region. With his extensive experience Stephen is able to best prepare both sellers and buyers for the process of marketing or purchasing a property by understanding how to achieve the most beautiful presentation possible.

On a personal level, Stephen's family hails from the Aran Isles in Ireland, while his wife is from Morocco. Though a former USC and National Junior Olympic athlete, Stephen's current favorite activity is coaching 2 of his 3 daughters in Lincoln Youth Soccer.

To keep it as short and to the point as possible, if you're looking for a Realtor who will go above and beyond to find your perfect home while being most respectful of your budget, you must look towards Stephen.

As first time home buyers, my fiance and I were more than pleased with how easy Stephen made the process. From the beginning he answered our very many questions about buying a house—the offer, the inspection, the contingencies, the works—all the while making it much more clear than any book we had read. Apart from his professional expertise, his personal knowledge of the area we were focused on proved beyond impressive and incredibly helpful.

Even when it seemed like we were leading Stephen on a wild goose chase, his willingness to show us any and all properties that were of interest was nonstop. He never pressured us into going above our budget, even though at times it seemed helpless competing against offers well above asking price. Bought a home in 2014 in Baker Bridge, Lincoln, MA 01773.

Stephen's more than just the best agent we've ever worked with (though he's certainly that). He's one of the most knowledgeable, personable, dedicated, and kind professionals I've come across, period.

He has a truly extraordinary background (set design, engineering, building, restoration, etc. (and, of course, real estate)), and he draws on that breadth and depth of experience throughout the home-buying process. His eye for detail surpasses that of just about anyone I know (he can look at a window and tell you when it was manufactured, what the energy costs would likely be, how much it'd cost to replace (and whether it'd be worth it), what the type/age of the glass tells you about the sellers (and the history of the property), whether or not the setting is insulated (and whether or not it's likely done with argon), etc.). I'm not even exaggerating. I've learned more about the fundamentals of sound home design in the months we've spent working with Stephen than I have in a lifetime of architectural fanaticism.

More important than any of that, though, Stephen is a truly warmhearted, kind person. One afternoon, while we were all waiting to hear if our offer on a condominium had been accepted, Stephen called me just to take my mind off of things. We discussed music and screenwriting for twenty minutes, and, by the end, I'd completely forgotten how nervous I'd been all morning. He worked with us for months and months, property after property, until our dream home's offer was finally accepted. We are now preparing to move into that home, and Stephen is 100% responsible for that.

None of this is hyperbolic. Work with Stephen and you'll come away not only satisfied, but inspired.
