Bought a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $150K in Big Bear Lake, CA.
Typically, I am not a big writer of reviews, but every now and then I feel it is extremely important to others to hear about their experiences, good or bad.
In late 2012, my wife and I began searching for a small cabin in Big Bear Lake. It was my very good fortune that I stumbled onto some real estate agent reviews in the area. This is where I found Steve Hirschler. His reviews were stellar, and now we know why.
I will admit that I can be a bit of a difficult buyer. I know what I want and know what I will pay. After calling Steve regarding one property I was completely impressed in the time he took to explain the property, the area and his knowledge. He understands Big Bear and real estate in Big Bear. Period.
Steve is the consummate professional in every way. We went on to make several trips to Big Bear where Steve took us to see many homes over the course of several months. He listened and understood our specific needs. Steve never gave up. We finally found our cabin. He was relentless in his search for us and negotiated our deal flawlessly.
Honestly, I don't know why ANYONE would use another agent in Big Bear. So, if you are looking for a top notch agent, a professional who will listen and understand your needs, please, look no further and contact Steve. He will go the distance for you and you will not be disappointed.

Bought a home in 2013.
After looking in a few different areas for a period of 6 months my wife and I decided to look in Big Bear. We had a few different realtors that had been helping us in other areas far outside of Big Bear. We had spent a tremendous amount of time with realtors and were tired with having to deal with one. By the time we had thought of looking in Big Bear we had realized exactly what we needed to not only be comfortable with our realtor, but also what we were looking for in a home. Steve exceeded my expectations and continued through with great service through the purchase of our home. He gave me all the information that I had requested and more and was very understanding about our needs. We had found our perfect home and closed escrow within about 2 months. After dealing with Steve I understood the importance of having a great realtor and really finding the right one. I highly recommend Steve! He not only understands all the in's and out's of Big Bear but can quickly adapt to your needs and really starts to understand what you're looking for in a home.

Bought a home in 2013.
We have been working Steve in buying a vacation house in the bigbear area. Steve has extensive knowledge on the local area. He had listings for us in various areas within bigbear lake, took us to these areas, explained pros and cons with each area, providing suggestions for our needs. He is very responsive to my queries, most of the time, immediately. All these qualitites in him made us comfortable working with him and built a trusting relationship. He has been very patient with us since we live like 3 hrs drive from bigbear and couldn't visit bigbear as often during the process. He had been very helpful in giving us tips and suggestions, which we greatly appreciate. I would strongly recommend Steve to anyone looking for a house in the bigbear area, be it a first house or a vacation home.

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $250K in Big Bear City, CA.
When I first talked to Steve about our home, he was very open and honest and informative about how he would handle our listing. I felt no pressure or 'salesmanship' but instead just good advice from a guy who treats this as his profession.
He had insights about selling real estate here in our area that were new to me, and set him apart in my opinion from other realtors and salespeople I had spoken with prior to meeting him.
Secondly he brought me a qualified and motivatied buyer immediately upon listing with his company. And we got our price as well.
As far as the actual sale and escrow process goes I was impressed again with his and the Tim Wood Groups professionalism and attention to detail. Our sale was handled smoothly and without glitch!

Sold a home in 2013.
Steve helped us sell our home in Fawnskin. It was a short sale which requires a lot more knowledge and experience to handle. We had other local real estate agents before Steve who run the Inn at Fawnskin listed the home with no luck. The inn keepers didn't even show the home to some potential buyers even though they were 3 blocks away.
Do yourself a favor, hire Steve to either help you find a home or sell yours. He's a real professional. Do not hire someone whose part time job or extra income is from the infrequent real estate transaction.
To be honest, I'm a real pain to deal with and I was impressed by Steve's patience. His communication was EXCELLENT. He answers emails very quickly, he texts which can be rare for the old fashioned Big Bear realtors. And he will call when something is important.
He is honest, ethical, hard working and diligent. I would recommend him to anyone serious about buying or selling in the Big Bear area.

Sold a home in 2013.
I bought my house from Steve and then sold it through Steve. When I was searching for the perfect home in Big Bear Steve sent me houses to review on-line daily. I choose the ones I wanted to see when I arrived on the mountain Saturday mornings. He helped me find my sweet little cottage and I have enjoyed it for years. When seasons changed in my life and I had to sell, once again Steve was there with his expertise and guidance through the process. Within 90 days my house was listed, sold and closed escrow! Steve made the process simple for me and made sure I was always kept informed. If i return to Big Bear in the future or if I have friends or colleagues looking for a mountain cabin, Steve Hirschler would be the Real Estate broker I would definately use every time! Thank you Steve!

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $150K in Big Bear City, CA.
Steve listed my cottage in Big Bear City on MLS on Jan. 5, 2013 and we had an offer on Jan. 10 and a second offer on Jan. 11. He was instrumental in helping me decide which buyer to accept. We will be closing Escrow on Feb. 15. Steve is very prompt in returning calls and emails. He is very thorough in explaining the details and keeps all of his promises. This is the second cabin that Steve has sold for me. I highly recommend him for anyone selling or buying property in the greater Big Bear area.

Sold a home in 2013.
Steve was a consummate professional during the sale of my mother's home. He took over midstream for an agent that was going to be out of town during escrow and didn't miss a step. He was very clear and thorough in his communications and kept me up to speed throughout the process. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a home in the Big Bear area.

My wife and I have purchased and sold a good number of real estate properties in the past 30+ years, including investments. We have never worked with any realtor who exceeded the services which Steve Hirschler provided. We have vacationed in Big Bear Lake, California for the past thirty years, and I have skied the area for over forty-five years.
We have been in the market for a small cabin/cottage/home for about the past ten years, and Steve has been assisting during about the past five years. We had a relatively long list of criteria, and Steve would call and/or e-Mail us with new properties as they became available, including photos of the property.
Surprisingly, he never gave up hope for us, and we finally closed escrow on a property in early 2013. Steve notified us of a new property on the day that it was listed. We drove up and looked at it the following day, and the next day we made an offer - it had been on the market just two days - an offer which was accepted by the sellers.
Escrow was not easy, mainly in our obtaining a loan, and Steve was always encouraging us as well as providing sound advice as to how to proceed, or handle issues as they came up. When we had difficulty in obtaining insurance, because of the high fire hazzard area, he provided us with a list of insurance companies that write policies in Big Bear. We love our new property, which has meet 100% of our criteria. We own a vacant lot in Big Bear, and if/when we decide to sell it, we will definitely list it with Steve Hirschler. I cannot imagine how any other agent could have better suited our needs and would have met our expectations than Steve.
