Old Hardwood Floors

We are just finishing redoing the original white and red oak mix floors in my house.  I went down to the local hardwood store and got some wood bleach.  It didn't take the stains out completely out but it did lighten it a lot.  It did start to turn some of the wood a pinkish color.  I was just careful and only did every other board.  Good Luck!

Polished Concrete Floors

I am having it installed in my house. Actually the concrete has been in for a few weeks, it just needs to be stained and sealed. I think it is beautiful. As far as durability goes, I not sure it is more durable than ceramic tile. Since I've had the concrete poured it amazes me all the little things the installer says not to do. I guess it is more durable after it is sealed. You may also want to consider stamped concrete. A friend of mine has this in several rooms of her house and it is great. Its just a personal preference. I will post back next week after my floor gets finished.

Any suggestions on Kitchen Sink?

I like one side for dishes and one side for washing vegetables while I cook.  My mother did insist that whatever sink I went with it was big enough to wash a baby in.  I think she's trying to hint at something!

Small Master Bath-What should I give up?

In one of our baths we put in a 42" wide bath shower combo.  I get my huge tub and my other half gets his roomy shower.

property occupied after closing by sellers

I bought a house on a short sale and agreed to allow the owner to occupy after closing.  I consulted a realestate attorney through this process.  He advised that because it was an agreement to occupy after closing as part of a real estate transaction and the fact that we never accepted any money from the previous owners they did not have tenants rights.  I was told that an eviction would rtake no more than 2 weeks.  We also put into our original real estate contract that I had the right to inspect the property and begin repairs within specified hours of the day with a 24 hour notice if I planned on entering the home.  Upon first inspection of the property we had a confrontation with the previous owners and every time we tried to get in the house no one would be home.  At that point I chose just to wait out the 30 days.  Also,  I never recieved any deposit but with the condition of the house the only way they could have damaged it was to light it on fire and it was insured!

Any suggestions on Kitchen Sink?

Thanks for your input.  I found a sink at lowes that I love.  It is a double off-set bowl that is 9" deep.  The larger bowl is huge.  I went with 18guage with a sound protection.  I will probably add more sound barrier to it.  I have had several people recomend going to the automotive stores and getting sound deadening spray that you put in you car door around the speakers.  The sink is a Franke and only cost  $249.

How do you clean the visible bricks on an interior brick chimney?

We are tying to clean years of grease and grime off of a brick chimney.  Any suggestions?  The grout is supposed to be white.  Thanks!

Any suggestions on Kitchen Sink?

The countertop is not installed yet.  Should be going in next week.  I guess because they are already paid for I consider them already done!
