I heard a statistic once that one in four people in Southern California have a real estate license. That was before the most recent real estate and mortgage licensee boom. Fortunately, merely having a license does not qualify as experience and even full time Realtors' experience varies significantly.
I have been a full time, award winning Realtor from my first year in business in 1985, and have been #1 Realtor in Coldwell Banker's Premiere Newport Beach office, in the top #5 agents in Orange County, and in the top 1000 agents in Coldwell Banker nationwide. I feel very blessed to have found a profession that I truly love, and I believe when you love what you do and believe in what you do it just comes naturally.
I also believe that any real estate need is valid. Since the beginning of my career I have worked differently from many others in the business. Most Realtors business plan surrounds a geographic "farm" or tract of homes. This business model has the Realtor soliciting the individuals that move in and out of that "farm" area. This creates a rather myopic view or opinion of the real estate market.
I have a different model. Although I have lived in the same area most all of my life, and continue to sell many homes in that area, I have always chosen to stay with the client rather than the house. This choice has allowed me to expand my knowledge of real estate to a much broader area and price range. The wide ranging experience has enabled me to better advise and serve my clients needs whatever and wherever those needs may be including all aspects of real estate whether it be residential, residential income, land and commercial sales or leasing. For example, when a client is considering selling a property and my advice is to hold on to it, I am able to offer property management services to alleviate the stress of being a landlord for my client. It is the broad range of services and areas that I cover that encourages my clients to call me for all of their real estate needs, and to confidently refer me to their friends and family. I am proud that my business has grown substantially from the referrals of satisfied customers.
This philosophy has enabled me to build long-term relationships with my clients that span the years from their first home or business, through building their investment portfolio, to their retirement home. My goal is not to sell you today, but to be your resource and your realtor for life.
