Hello, I am Marjie Van Der Laan, happy and thankful to be of one the very few fourth generation real estate brokers in the world. My family's involvement in real estate dates back to 1935, so I guess real estate is in my genes!  After working in real estate for two years in Southern California, I moved to the Pacific Northwest, which I now call my home.

My real estate partner and husband, D. Michael Zaviska, is fluent in English, German and Czech languages. He has a background of working through difficult situations in international business and has an excellent track record in finding win-wins for clients and negotiating positive outcomes.

Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $175K in Powellhurst Gilbert, Portland, OR.

When we started the house buying process we were given some names of agents from our bank. When we looked up their creditenials, we weren't confident that they were the right fit to help us find our perfect home. My husband searched zillow instead and found Marjie. She was very laid back and put up with my insistent questions. She was super knowledgeable in all areas, and was able to provide further readings or pamphlets for questions. She was able to look around the house and tell us if something needed work and an estimate of how much that thing might cost. She was available by email or text, and always responded same day to either make appointments for showings or answer the questions I had. When there was a concern about where we got our loan, she jumped right in with another person/company that could get us what we needed. Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $475K in Portland, OR.

We called Marjie directly when we saw the list in zillow.com suddenly, she arranged the visit and we arrived within around 30 minutes. She also showed me other houses for comparison and gave us her opinion. She pointed out some we didn't notice. When we had concern about the price, Marjie prepared the price comparison document for us. It's very useful to us! Every time we sent her the questions by email, she replied us at once, even at mid-night. Do you sleep? She sent us a clear timeline sheet and reminded us before each session.
