Hello, I am Marjie Van Der Laan, happy and thankful to be of one the very few fourth generation real estate brokers in the world. My family's involvement in real estate dates back to 1935, so I guess real estate is in my genes!  After working in real estate for two years in Southern California, I moved to the Pacific Northwest, which I now call my home. 

My real estate partner and husband, D. Michael Zaviska, is fluent in English, German and Czech languages. He has a background of working through difficult situations in international business and has an excellent track record in finding win-wins for clients and negotiating positive outcomes.

Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $475K in Portland, OR.

We called Marjie directly when we saw the list in zillow.com suddenly, she arranged the visit and we arrived within around 30 minutes. She also showed me other houses for comparison and gave us her opinion. She pointed out some we didn't notice. When we had concern about the price, Marjie prepared the price comparison document for us. It's very useful to us! Every time we sent her the questions by email, she replied us at once, even at mid-night. Do you sleep? She sent us a clear timeline sheet and reminded us before each session. Bought a home in 2014.

I'm moving into my house next week thanks to Marjie. She was instrumental in helping us choose a good home with good schools in the right place. My husband relocated ahead of me and we had to be innovative and use Skype to tour homes together. Margie listened to what we wanted and found us the perfect house. She invested the time to listen to our criteria and this has been the best buying experience in our buying history and hopefully our last. Marjie went beyond any other agent in terms of bringing us to multiple houses, working with us long distance, helping provide crucial information so we could make decisions in a time crunch.
